Will standard letters delivered by An Post display the source Dublin area the letter was sent from? Same question for registered post.

For conventional post - normally no, but post can end up being manually cancelled for whatever reason.

For registered post, yes; the tracking number will show where it was initially scanned, which will be the exact post office used.

A postmark would only show it had gone through the Dublin Mail Centre .

It wouldn't indicate what part of Dublin it was posted in .

A registered letter wouldn't show the source either though using the tracking number it could be traced

A registered letter will need the stamp to be cancelled, that can be done by running a pen through it or by using the date stamp, which in our case would show the name of the PO.
