Coyotes closing time?

    Hello,

I was just passing Coyotes on Shop Street and the place sounded lively at 12.30am, everyone inside singing Wonderwall and the music pumping. Are places not supposed to be closed by 11pm now? Or do they have a special nightclub licence?

I would love a proper night out like this so just curious why other places are not doing the same, without Wonderwall...

Currently all restaurants are required to close by 11pm. No pubs or nightclubs are allowed to be open.

Coyotes is a new pizza place in Shop Street.

Sometimes people break the law. Sometimes they do it so blatantly that the guards are forced to act, even if the crime is (apparently) victimless. Sometimes this can even cause the law to be changed eg all restaurants may be forced to revert to takeaway only. If this happened, then the rest of us could become extremely cross with the idiots who pushed the boundaries too far.

I'm not outraged I would genuinely love a long night out like this so I had to set up an account to find out. I'm originally from Kildare and there is nothing happening there atm so it would be great! My friend said he left at 1am.

I'll tell you what's not great when you have a hangover, a massive swab down the back of your throat and so far up your nose you'd swear they were looking for brain matter. (Came back negative thankfully, for the disease I mean, the brain matter is there )

Just passing again now and the music still pumping with people inside drinking. Feel sorry for the pubs that cannot open and the decent places that have to close at 11pm. I've heard of places doing this in the middle of nowhere but not in the middle of a city. And we'll all be complaining if Galway goes into lockdown like Laois, Offaly and Kildare.

200 confirmed cases yesterday, 6 in Galway. This is the largest number of cases in a single day since the beginning of May. We now have multiple clusters with secondary spread of disease and rising numbers of cases in many parts of the country. Sure, be grand.

Because some people are not as tuned in as you are and don't think it's worth mentioning. My uncle would love to reopen his pub and would fully follow the guidelines, while other places serving food justify the reasons not to open the pubs.

You came on with a very different slant (where can I have a night out with different tunes) lol but now it turns out your uncle has a pub and you are (rightly or not) just p*ssed off at them? It sounds like you want to report them. Why not just do it if you feel they are breaking the law?

What time will you be passing tonight? Want to make sure I tune in for the live update.

I'm clearly in the wrong place to bring this up. Everyone is suffering someway between wearing masks or not socialising in ways they wish they could. I understand that businesses are trying to make back revenue they've lost. I just feel that many publicans do not have this option, where a lot of people would much prefer to go while following the guidelines. This is a joint effort or we'll be following other counties.

I thought all the Kildare people were supposed to stay there?
