Just wondering is anyone doing this rather than going with three or others

Been using Three, then went to GoMo (download limit)

And said I’d give Vodafone a go now with their new 20€ deal

Getting awful speeds and I figured Vodafone would be best if the lot

    Sim came with

    Username
    Vodafone

    Password
    Vodafone

    APN
    hs.vodafone.ie

Tried changing to live.vodafone.ie and it was a small bit better

Only seem to be getting a 3G signal

    Thanks

The HS APN is for broadband plans, data allowances for Vodafone X unlimited exclude traffic via that APN, check your credit balance to see if it has diminished, there's also usage details available in My Vodafone

AFAIK the username and password aren't required and can be left blank.

The only APN that consumes inclusive data allowance on VF X is Live APN

How far away is the vodafone mast compared to the Eir/Three masts? Sounds like you are possibly getting a weaker Vodafone signal. How many bars is it showing on the e5186 homepage for the vodafone service? There is also an option there to force 3G/4G which you can play with. I recall it being mentioned that Vodafone was capping the speed on the unlimited Vodafone X plan to 10Mbps also, so its either this, insufficient signal strength or possible congestion on the mast you are connected to.

    Jim
