What's going on lads fill me in

'The Scottish football season is in serious jeopardy of being called to a halt after Boli Bolingoli broke strict quarantine rules and travelled to Spain before playing against Kilmarnock.

The Celtic defender did not tell anyone at the club of his trip and now chiefs are furious at the player for risking the campaign and the safety of his teammates, coaching staff and opposition. Bolingoli breached the rules put in place by the Scots government where anyone travelling from Spain should self-isolate for two weeks.

Last night a Scottish government spokesperson confirmed the blunder could force a pause in the Premiership season after only two matches. "The Scottish Government is aware of reports of a Celtic FC player having broken quarantine rules last week," the spokesman said. "We are currently in discussion with the club and football governing bodies to establish the facts. '

Bolingoli decided it'd be a good idea to break the rules and head off to Spain last week with out informing the club nor self-isolating for 14 days upon his return.

Lenny was unaware of what the idiot did when he gave him game time on Sunday. Was surprised he brought him on at the time. He's a donkey.

I really hope the consequences for this are not too severe for Celtic. It could cost us points in the league or have the plugged pulled altogether. Also Champions League participation is in jeopardy too now if we're ordered not to field a team for any length of time.

The guy is hopeless - get him to fcuk out of the club.

What an absolute clown, seriously, in what right mind would you think a) that its OK, b) not tell anyone and c) think on one would find out. Poor judgement and given his on field performances, not one that surprises me

Celtic would be wise to publically suspend him for at least 14 days and do it this morning before the wheels come off

The isolation horse has bolted. He’s been in contact with both Celtic and killie squads.

They’ll be trying to convince authorities that isolation is not required in this scenario by testing everyone and hoping all are negative.

Difference with Aberdeen is that they had 2 confirmed Covid tests and the other players were considered close contacts of a confirmed case - so if all Celtic and killie tests are negative there hopefully could be scope for isolation not being required

    Absolute mess

Anything less than a dismissal is unacceptable.

They can test all they want but the virus can still develop up to 14 days.

He's well and truely f*cked us.

There is a cost associated with rash decisions, im sure its on the cards but getting all your legal ducks in a line would take a bit of time

Sturgeon has urged Celtic and Aberdeen games to be called off for the week

Presumably because there needs to be a full investigation and the club need to be certain of their legal position regarding his contract etc.

You'd hope his agent has been told to find him a new club in the very least.

Additionally, what do we do if one of the other players fcuks up? Precedent needs to be considered. Say Eddy or Christie breach the rules next week. Is it in the club's interests to terminate their contract too?

Untwist the panties. He made a mistake. Legally he's liable for a £480 fine and a talking to. He's been tested twice since he got back and was negative both times. Silly mistake, but no harm, no foul. Fine him a few weeks wages and get on with it.

My arsé in this situation I doubt he'd have a leg to stand on. Hes possibly fùcked an entire league with his stupidity. Fifa allow for sackings under "just cause" clause. This would surely qualify.

Precedent is one thing but to my eye anyway, the breach is bad but the deceit in this case is as bad and as dangerous. That’s worthy of dismissal. Didn’t just go up the road either and accidentally broke it. He intentionally went abroad to an at risk country and decided to tell nobody and then play.

I suppose what I’m saying is there are levels of breach. If a Kilmarnock player were to test positive now post match there will be war

Looks like our next two games (St. Mirren & Aberdeen) are off. Very serious in terms of losing ground in the league - games in hand are not as reassuring as points in the bag.

Participation in the Champions League under threat too.

What a mess this pr!ck has caused.

St Mirren and Aberdeen postponed, Aberdeen would have most likely been rescheduled anyway. A full weeks training for the CL qualifiers with hopefully no injuries. Grand job. Nothing so serious as to throw the toys out of the pram. :D

It is a lot more serious than an ordinary punter ignoring the self isolation rules. The whole premise of the Scottish govt allowing football to restart for the new season was that the players & club staff must stringently adhere to stricter rules. Now two games in, we have already seen

    Rangers testing irregularities
Aberdeen players out in the pub
    Griffiths throwing a house party
Bolingoli nipping off to Spain and not telling anyone

The above are the actions of braindead individuals who will jeopordise the season completing

I think we’ll be lucky to get away with the two games just being postponed. Hopefully we won’t have to forfeit the Champions League match.

We’ll be playing catch-up to the rest of the league in terms of points and fixture congestion and there is the suggestion that Sky will seek their money back for the St. Mirren game too.

Wouldn’t want to be Boli in the dressing room. He’s fcuked the club, his teammates and the support. Kilmarnock players couldn’t be too pleased with him either.

Should have his contract terminated immediately. No excuse for that behaviour and he has brought a huge amount of negative attention on the club.

And get rid of Griffiths asap as well please.

Just what we need 2 games into the 10IAR league season when we've already dropped points.

We need game time, not a week's training.

No chance the CL game will be pulled. We'll still play the same amount of league games as everyone else. We're 2 games in, not mid season. I'm sure he'll get stick for a few days, then it'll move onto someone else. People calling for him to be sacked are emotional wrecks.

Chris Sutton being an "emotional wreck"

There should be no way back for Bolingoli at Celtic now. If he knowingly went to Spain before the Kilmarnock game and broke quarantine rules he showed he really doesn’t give a sh## about his teammates, the manager and the support… Celtic should get rid immediately

Hard to disagree. Unless you dont give a shíte about the club, team, manager or the fans.

This is quite serious and the consequences for club could be horrendous.

His disregard for the club and his teammates is p!ss poor.

Even if we forget the brainless breach of Covid-19 regulations and it's own consequences, any player disrespectful enough to be causing a circumstance that has the club postponing matches etc. and being reprimanded by Nicola Sturgeon for any reason should be severely dealt with.

I kind of agree that impulsively sacking him might not be in the best interests of the club and could make a messy situation even worse for Celtic but one way or another this clown need to be jettisoned from the club (he's not good enough to wear the shirt in any event).

I'd say the likes of Lenny, Scott Brown, McGregor etc. are seething with the idiot.

If it was Edouard I doubt Sutton would be calling for him to be sacked.

Neil Lennon on Bolingoli: “We gave players a couple of days off after Hamilton. We made it clear to players they were not to leave Glasgow. Boli took flight to Spain on Monday and kept it to himself.... we were livid, appalled.

“We have been bitterly let down by an individual. I didn’t want to hear his excuse. He has blanatly disregarded our instructions.”

“There’s anger and disappointment from the squad. It’s just simply not good enough and it’s disrupted our plans.”

It will be very difficult to imagine him (Bolingoli) being welcomed back into the dressing room in the future

This is a rogue who has gone off tangent and has done something very very selfish. We have been completely oblivious to this. I’m absolutely livid it’s a total betrayal of our trust."

Seems unlikely he'll laugh this off as bantz and appreciate the extra training Bolignoli got the team.
