No Van Dijk but don't worry Nick Pope makes the cut, god I wonder who had the better season between them.

It appears being English is a huge advantage for these nominations.

There is a whole thread on Twitter dedicated to Firmino, it's full comments about Bobby from explayers.

I like the one from Crouchy.

Was originally a quote about Busquets from del Bosque.

I think Pope is a fair shout to be included, there's always going to be some players that miss out. VVD's problem is he has to live up to the standards he previously set.

And how has he not lived up to the standard set last year? What part of his game dropped off? He played more, scored more, and we had the best defence in the league.

    Pepe finished Van Dijk, remember?

He was awesome last year this year he was just awesome again, simply no improvement.
I'm not saying he shouldn't be included but someone always misses out on these popularity contests, there's no right or wrong list on something so subjective.

Norwich not very good at negotiating .Liverpool offer 10m, a low ball bid, Norwich ask for 20m, and they can't go up now, Liverpool were probably willing to pay 20m, had Norwich asked for 30m.
But now we'll now get him for 14-16m. Bargain.

Sky Sports News claiming Norwich are accusing us of shenanigans. Been awhile.

Pope is a better shout than Jamie "goes missing until its a tap in" Vardy. Absolutely no idea how he's on there outside of the golden boot. Literally did nothing for a season.

A lot less Clean sheets this season tbf, he was still outstanding, but he was a Clean Sheet master the season before

That's like saying Liverpool did nothing this season apart from win the league.

Somewhat surprisingly despite out poor showing in the PL traditionally we have actually won POTY more than anyone but Utd.
    Pep maybe onto something.

Norwich now trying everything to get the price up.

The player seems to want out now and Norwich know the price Liverpool offered is just about right however no they go public with dirty deeds to try and get Liverpool to bid more.

And why wouldn't they try and get the best price? A few million extra in this environment could be the difference between the club bouncing right back up or cutting corners to survive in the Championship.

Vardy scored 99% of his goals against teams with 10 men

Think you have to go all the way back to 2019 for that.

Salah and Aubameyang shared the Golden Boot with Mane, but only Mane made the shortlist for the award:

    - VVD
    - Mane
    - Sterling
    - Bernardo Silva
    - Hazard
    - Aguero

    (VVD won it)

It's all part of some arcane accounting to get Mbappe to Anfield.

Joyce reporting that Liverpool are monitoring Sarr and that Origi and Shaq could leave if the right price comes in and that will free up the space for Sarr.

They're 1/12 to win the league next season....perhaps they think Matip is the missing piece for CL glory. :D
