Was moving a few cattle with the cattle trailer this morning. There was a noise and the back wheel of the trailer came off. Was blessed there was no one walking on the road at the time. Found the 5 studs too.

Same here. I’ve given up on DoneDeal. Way too many adds saying €123,456 as price. The search results are all over the place too
It's so annoying when you do a search that the ads are not in chronological order and you have to trawl through ad's that are anything from 20 to 70 days old before you see a recent one.

You can filter your search to most recent.

I typically filter prices between 100 and 10,000. It knocks a load of them out

The exemption for TB testing of calves up to 120 days is ending on September the 1st. Reading the article, normal TB rules will apply for calves that are over 42 days old on 1/9/20 if you wish to sell them.

    13 months inflation. :D

Social distancing means they'll have to cap the daily attendance. ;)

It’s a standard enough business move - pay the directors how ever much is needed so that the company makes zero. I assume it’s a “tax efficient” way of doing things

I think I read somewhere that between herself and the daughter they are dragging out nearly €400k

The ploughing is a good day out but the greed shown by the organisers has really put me off it.. especially the year of the storm, everyone knew it was happening but they didn't call it off until people were all outside encase they would loose money..

I think the ploughing is losing its flair. Too much rubbish stands getting into it

There are more concerns than that.

If they called it off, they'd probably have gone broke.

Like Ear to the Ground, Countryfile, etc it's no longer profitable to cater just for farmers, same with politicians, there's not enough farmers, not enough votes.

Haven’t gone in years but lots of the locals go, some on multiple days. I think it’s great the way it appeals to all ages. A lot of the locals that go would have been reared on farms but went into other professions and are bringing their own kids out for the day.

It's great from that point of view alright.

But a few businesses have pulled out because the price of the space they get is too high for the return in business they get.

I used go every year for 2 days but I haven't gone in a few years now because, while most of the businesses I want to see are there, it's almost impossible to actually get to them with the crowds and the day is gone rushing around behind the stands where you can see nothing.

I remember when the Spring Show in the RDS decided to cater for more and more non farm businesses and the farm businesses just stopped going and it closed down after a few years because the farmers weren't going either.
