City getting Torres from Valencia for 27m seems ridiculously cheap to me.

English quota probably behind the buy, esp if Stones is off.

Did we notice an improvement? It's not like they all turned into Rory Delap...

    We won the league :pac:

Edit: The coaching wasn't about long throws from what I read it was about retaining possession about open up angles of attack etc.

    https://spielverlagerung.com/2020/01/31/liverpool-throw-in-analysis/ Great piece here.

Also think I read that we maintained the ball from throw ins about 65-70% of the time vs 45-50% for the rest of the league, will dig out where I saw that.

    Also this video good.

Plus some brown envelopes knowing City. Line the pockets of those who will agree to the 27m deal.:P

About 10 threads back we were (well I sure was!) moaning like feck about the throw ins and how they were not taken quickly enough (TAA was just terrible for humming and hawing) and how they ended up being thrown into the "wrong" space usually resulting in loss of possession within one or two touches of the ball. It's these incremental improvements across the board that create more chances to score goals or reduce the chance of allowing a shot on Liverpool's goal.

When we signed him they robbed us, now we stole him.

Ake is Dutch or is it that he came through the Chelsea youth set up?

Listed Domestic first then International, so 2 sets of 3, in order within their set of 3, poorly laid out I know!

Yeah, you only need to have been at an English club for 3 years before you turn 21 to be homegrown. Ake joined Chelsea at 15 or 16, so he counts towards City’s quota alright.

Decent enough but from them all in all I suppose.

Worth signing for his throw-ins alone.

    Yep!
An example of how the Klopp-Krawietz partnership works is seen in messages exchanged by the pair during the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

They had homed in on the increasing influence of set-pieces, both defensive and attacking, and a decision was made to be more innovative, especially as Liverpool were now armed with the height of Virgil van Dijk and the delivery of Trent Alexander-Arnold. The facts speak for themselves.

In 2017-18, Liverpool scored 13 goals and conceded 12 from set-pieces. Increased focus and innovation following the World Cup saw them score 29 and concede only eight in the subsequent campaign.

Such enlightened attention to detail even included the arrival of a dedicated throw-in coach, the Dane Thomas Gronnemark, after the tournament, an appointment designed to eradicate errors and maximise the many re-starts from this position during games.

Serious attention to detail in our coaching staff!

What do we reckon on these?

I think the black one is the wrong jersey.

They're fine if a little boring, I like that we're bringing back the green though.

I do wish we got Adidas though, just to see some remade retros like Arsenal have gotten. Would love to see this brought back:

Well haven't NB already brought the green one back below.

I don't get the excitement of Adidas to be honest.

Don't think you can really go wrong wit the home jersey.

At the end of the day it's all about the money for the club.

I know they are paying a lot and the money comes in handy and all but Standard Chartered plus their logo is too much for the shirt imo.

    The shirts look fine otherwise.

The red one is spot on as its being seen on various online shops at this stage so the others must be right too. Not a fan of either of them. £70 for the replica and £100 for the player issue ones though  Guess they have to fund the 20% the club gets from sales somehow!

I like the red one but the collar style at the back is silly.
