Took the plunge and ordered a SIM card today, fingers crossed it all goes smoothly.

I tested for a day or two b4 porting my number over from another network

Is maith an scáthán súil charad.

Voice call reception. Even getting SMSs sent is a struggle.

Your Wife's Eir mobile is likely using WiFi Calling. Gives her guaranteed voice calls and SMS over WiFi independent of mobile coverage. Not available on GoMo.

Ordered SIM yesterday and arrived today:)

Now to start the porting process. Am assuming i don't need to tell eir as I'm on a 30 day rolling contract. By popping in the new sim it should kill the existing eir one?

Leave your original sim in the phone.

Setup your port via GoMo Website account.

Wait for your phone with original sim in to go down & then put your new GoMo sim in & away you go.

Did that last night and it was supposed to port at 6.11pm last night, existing SIM card has yet to port, I know it says it can take up to 24 hours so maybe I need to wait?

Small thing I'm noticing with all this working from home is that calls are dropped bang on the 1h 52m mark.

Thankfully its an excuse for a few minutes relief while dialling back in!

Maybe old SIM stayed alive as was on eir and home is eir...anyway a quick DM on twitter and they confirmed I'm moved. New SIM inserted and hey presto:)

Anyone find that the covid tracing app is interfering with coverage.

With Bluetooth and location always on I find that if I go into an area of bad coverage and lose connection.

I then have to go into aeroplane mode and turn those two off to get a signal again. Defeats the purpose of the app tho.

Some people still have issues. I switched over to GoMo and had no issues but two relatives of mine are no longer able to get the texts. It's not just banking texts though, a lot of services are affected. Contacted GoMo only to be told that its the sender that's at fault.

Has anyone ever been able to resolve this? I get some OTPs from Google and all from Amazon but fail to receive all AIB and at least one Google (Duo setup). I had to switch my AIB number to my wife's phone. I have contacted support 3 times over this but nothing has been done.

Have a gomo sim in a router but cant get the app to work as I presume it has to be on the 3 network so I can keep and eye on the data currently at 110 gb and it's still going strong is there any way around d this??

Also if I order another sim on the 1 account do I get that data allowance or do I get billed for it

You will be billed for each SIM!

On their phones in settings mostly. People don't really need to though as even when you hit 80GB you don't get cut off or charged extra, they just slow it down hence why you don't see too many people asking for this.

It would be nice to have an app for tracking usage, but there is not one. That app is from somewhere else in the world.

I have home wifi so dont have to worry about breaking 80 gig. I am averaging 10 to 15 gig a month.

You should probably be on a deal with a different provider if 80 gif doesn't cut it.

You can log into the router by typing the following into the address bar 192.168.1.1

Somewhere in there you should be able to set data usage from the first of each month, you can do the same on your mobile under data settings.

Edit: just checked router : Advanced/Network/Data settings.
If you reset the router at any point during the month, then I think it also resets the usage.

This is one of the few things I pay for where I actually enjoy receiving the bill, bargain alert of the decade.

Indeed. 9.99 a month. I know people paying 50 or 60 quid a month for a worse package and some 2 year contract with an overpriced phone.

To dam wright there. I was with vodafone and had 2 phone numbers with them and it cost 60 a month for the 2 of them and they could not even put both of them on one bill. I moved the 2 of them to gomo and its great as both are on the one bill and so far was 35 as I had made a few call to the uk (not Northern Ireland). I also know others who move and also loving the 9.99 a month and another friend is 12.99 month and he was paying something like 70 a month just to have 50gb of data a month.

Yep, I signed up two phones in June and haven't looked back. Did a speed test in rural Wexford the other day and got 30 Mbps download. Previously I was on 48months and couldn't get any data from that location, so also had a Vodaphone MiFi with very expensive data for occasional use. Eir have finally done something right with the GoMo MVNO. The 80 GB allowance is fabulous.

Also looking forward to getting gigabit FTTH soon in Dublin. Then it'll be goodbye to Virgin Media whose cable broadband has been the best for a long time, but pricey. Was thinking the other day about the half megabit Eircom i-stream "broadband" I got in 2002 for nearly €100/mo ... it's been a long slow old haul but I guess a 2000-fold improvement in 20 years ain't bad. 10 gigabits will be available eventually, though I've no idea what you would even do with that! But right now I'm getting 60 x i-stream on my phone, which feels very futuristic !!!

Have you had any problems roaming in UK. I can only receive calls and data but can not make calls roaming in central London on EE Network. Go mo suggested it MAY be that I barred international calls. Obviously I have roaming switched on when I'm receiving data while there.

I had same problem in Belfast.

Go mo were of no assistance.

    Go mo is great otherwise
