How long are your start/stop AGM batteries lasting?

How many years have any of you gotten out of them? I hear because of the brake recupperation and start/stop they don't last very long, 3/4 years despite them being "tougher" AGM batteries.

I put one of those conductance testers on my battery, a 171 car. SOH is now down to 50-60% health. Rated EN 680A ( now reading approx 500A)

For comparison i put the tester on a brand new battery in a friends new car, same battery specs and it reads 100% SOH rated (680 A) reading 750A.

Funny thing start stop works perfectly and seems to work fine.

This is the exception to the rule in my experience. 4 to 5 years is when we would have seen issues with lazy starting and stop-start.

Twice the price and last half as long!

Mine's still the original from late 2012 in my Prius. It doesn't do any engine starting though, as the high voltage system handles that.

I did keep it on a smart charger during lockdown as I was barely driving at all.

Funny enough, our 535d (2015) is still on original battery too.

We still have an old VW Passat 2007 around the house still on original battery, granted isn’t start stop.

Our 162 Skoda Octavia battery failed last winter, just over 3 years old.

On a Sunday, parked in a multi storey carpark.

The car is supposed to be recoded too, but I just got one in Halfords, swapped it out and it did the trick.

I changed the original battery in my wifes 2010 Auris in 2018 at 120k kms. The new batter was €120 so if it lasted 8 years like the original then its not too bad.
