Valve splitting hot tank and radiators

We recently had a solar PV and immersion fitted to our solid fuel back boiler system. As our water is now heated by solar, we would like to send more of the water heated in the back boiler to our radiators.

There is a valve under the hot press to do just that, we know it has been adjusted in the past. Unfortunately we don't which way it should turn!

Can anyone offer any advice on how we could figure it out? Would there be any risk with closing it fully and seeing if the radiators start/stop heating?

Not a plumber but I would think a few photos would help anyone who could answer.

Seems so obvious when you put it like that

The ones either side of the pump are Pump valves.
For isolating the pump when changing it.

Other one is hard to tell but seen as how it is solid fuel I definitely would not close off any valves to see what happens.

It is a lever valve with the lever removed. There must be a vent pipe unrestricted to the expansion tank for safety but having a lever valve with no handle is suspicious. Where does that pipe go after the hot water cylinder? I would get a decent heating engineer to have a look.
