Six months ago Sinn Fein or rather Marylou promised us change but was unable to deliver change. Looking at other parties like Labour-Brendan Howlin stepped aside and they picked Alan Kelly to lead; also the Greens are to pick a new leader despite having their best election result in years; Are we to believe that no-one in SF has anything critical to say about Marylou's or indeed their party's performance in the Gov negotiation talks? I imagine there are thousands of their supporters extremly disappionted and disallusioned over what has taken place

Sf take their orders from the wrong people, it's not as though they can make calls themselves. The party as a whole is so bullied and controlled they could not make tea without waiting for an order.

    Dan.

did not hear a peep out of SF on the efforts to create a coalition government. Since one was agreed you cannot turn on a television or radio with out someone from SF telling the government how things should be done. Shows that all they have is the ability to complain.

All we get from S.F. is a load of misery guts with nothing positive to say about any initiative.
Sherlock of Labour wants more spending on welfare. The head bangers of the far left dont know what they want so just repeat Trotskyist ****e and want unity of the left. Some chance of that. The transition year student in Achill who has thrown the toys out of the pram wants another left eco socialist ( what the **** is that?) party set up so she can leave it in six months.

Exactly the criticism of our 'leader' swilling bottles in the park. They should have known better. Look at all the house party's...that directly attributable to Varadkar swanning about, buying clothes and having meals out, leading a normal life as if Covid never happened

This is as bad as the post I read on the journal stating the Reason why people didn't socially distance on dame street was because they didn't respect Simon Harris.

As bad as this bit of stretching? Which is what I was sending up, which seems to have whooshed right over your head.

Not the point, the example set was the problem.

A pity that Sinn Fein in the North have adopted a partitionist mentality when it comes to the health of people on this island.

    https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/articles/coronavirus-covid-19-countries-and-territories-exemptions

Their list of exemptions is far higher and more risky than the South.

Read this carefully: The island is partitioned. There are 5 parties involved in determining policy in the northern partitioned part.
One of those parties, is diametrically opposed to aligning in any way with the south.

Partition makes the health of the island more risky and volatile.

It's not rocket science to figure that out.

Default 1 from earlier - blame someone else.
I should have added (3) - blame the person who raised the issue.

The same argument about borders can be made about Spain and France or Belgium and Luxembourg, why don't they unite?

No, the question is, knowing what everyone knows about the virus, why did Sinn Fein allow so many countries onto the Northern Ireland green list?

I told you why and I'll say it again...it isn't rocket science.
And you don't have to travel the world looking for spurios other places to point at.

I understand that being appointed to a different position is now considered a payrise.

Mary-Lou has just handed a €9.5k payrise to Brian Stanley.

    https://www.breakingnews.ie/ireland/brian-stanley-appointed-chair-of-oireachtas-public-accounts-committee-1012295.html

I don't have any issue with him getting the rate for the job, but those who are ranting and raving about junior ministers getting "payrises" must surely be outraged at this too.

That will buy a lot of printer toner and marked diesel.

But he will give all that to the party as he will take the average industrial wages not like the grabbers in the other parties

I don't believe for a second that the Sinn Fein mob are on an average industrial wage only

Doesn't matter if he keeps it or gives it to the party. Feck all use to the tax payer either way.

Whats this about his various houses. He has two. One in West Belfast (probably worth between £100-150K) and another in Donegal which more than likely is probably worth about £50K.

The one in Belfast looks a lot more valuable than that.

As for the one in Donegal, if its only work 50k, that's bad for him after all the money he spent renovating it.

Surely he would give his Donegal one to some needy homeless family or maybe Syrian refugees

But Mary Lou says that that is party policy in solidarity with the unemployed and workers on low pay. Are you calling her a liar?

Whatever. Its the mix of contempt and dishonest entitlement that lets them spin this "average industrial wage" bullcrap on the rest of us that grates with me

Not at all, it was only 2 weeks ago that we found out Apple did not owe any of the money SF wanted to spend.

While we can all laugh at another example of their stupidity, on a serious note, it shows how bad things could be.

Imagine if Sinn Fein had managed to cobble together a government last February and immediately spent the Apple money.

Hypotheticals are clearly better things to discuss than the shambles were are currently seeing play out in real time for some. How are the Greens getting on Blanch?

We can only go on what SF promised to do/called on the government to do.

And spending Apple's money/reducing the pension age would put the current "shambles" in to perspective very quickly.
