Cleaning Oil tank

    I have a plastic 1000l oil tank which is redundant as I have converted to gas. I would like to clean the tank for the purposes of rainwater harvesting / storage for watering plants etc. I would appreciate any guidance or info on companies that may have the expertise to do this. There is approx. 100l of residual kerosene. Many thanks for any help. makfli

    Nope! Water containers are quite cheap. Dont use a previous oil tank for such purposes. Youll never clean it. Skip it.

    Dispose of the kero tank, it will never be properly clean. Could end up poisoning every bit of ground watered from it.


    Get an empty IBC tank - they're handy got -



    I have 2 collecting rainwater and have hozelock outlets fitted for watering plants/washing cars etc.
