No, the reason Madeleine was taken was because a pedophile took her.

Allegedly. There’s been no proof. Madelines parents had a duty of care, and they failed. We have babysitters because children should not be left unattended. If what they’re saying about this German is true, he was alerted to Madeline because an employee told him her parents left the children in the evenings when going to dinner. They had one job, to protect their children, and they didn’t. The OC had a babysitting service. It wasn’t availed of. A neighbour gave details of hearing Madeline cry in the nights before looking for her dad.

Yes she may have been taken by a paedophile but her parents were negligent.

I'm not sure why people defend what they "think" happened so much in this case ,
When people blame the parents people go nuts , when people say she was kidnapped people go nuts

There is literally no evidence that she was taken
There is literally no evidence that it was the parents ,

Until there is evidence either way no one knows but yet people keep going around in circles arguing over 10 years later ,

That is your own subjective view and is not one shared by the Law in any jurisdiction I know of. If it was the McCann's would have done time for aiding an abduction. But the law will put 100% responsibility for the abduction on the abductor.

Sure who said about aiding abduction? You’ve taken me up wrong there. The facts are they didn’t lock all the doors therefore leaving doors open to enter freely. Didn’t say by malice.

The German investigators have said they believe she is dead which suggest they do have evidence. They are building a case and can only say a certain amount to the media without jeopardising their case.

But for some they need this lead to be called a false dawn, because they have been pursuing the McCann's for years and will look like idiots when the case is solved.
Again like another poster here why do you make your comment so vehemently personal? It's curious and strange behaviour.
The Germans also said she may be alive.

Sorry all I saw was blah blah blah, have you a point?

Fixed it for you. So what do you have to say to those careless neglectful parents in this country?

Nothing because this thread is not about them. Feel free to start a thread though and I might drop by.

Convenient. Now back to obsessing over one set of parents dreadful mistake. One they have paid for in the worst way possible.

No convenience at all, I just find whataboutery adds nothing to a discussion just a cover for those who wish to engage in mental gymnastics.
I would imagine Madeline has paid the highest price.

    what evidence

Well plumbthedepths has apparently seen all the evidence and decided that the German is not guilty and hopes that the “real culprits” are brought to justice.
You should maybe ask him/her what evidence brought him/her to that conclusion.
What neither of you appear to accept is that not all, or maybe not much, of the evidence has been released to the media.

Have I? Can you point out where I said this, as I don't remember doing so.

Sure who said about aiding abduction? You’ve taken me up wrong there. The facts are they didn’t lock all the doors therefore leaving doors open to enter freely. Didn’t say by malice.

The problem is that in the continuing evasion of justice by the abductor, the McCanns have become the villain of the whole piece and everything short of being malicious has been said about them. Not to mention those who think the McCanns either killed Madeleine themselves and invented the whole abduction story.

I am not saying that leaving the kids alone as they did wasn't a lax thing to do, but what they really didn't need, just when they thought their lives couldn't get any worse, was being dog-piled about it by cynical commentators among the press and public in the wake of Madeleine's disappearance, as if that's the greater part of the story, when the actual person who took the children was/is still at large.

Agreed but all scenarios are on the table whilst there’s no outstanding evidence. They are the last ones to see her alive that can be accounted for.

Everything's on the table, but any theories directly implicating the McCanns belong on a neglected corner of it, given the evidence that Bruckner was hanging around that area.

Whatever wish some if these posters ever had for Madeleine to be found dead or alive and be reunited with her family expired years ago.
And for some of them it has never been anything except a campaign to persecute the McCanns for some reason.
But mostly it’s not wanting the horror of having to face that they are, and have been, wrong all along. Wrong from the very start. Wrong for 13 years.
If you consider yourself the worlds leading amateur detective/worlds most perfect parent/authority on body language then being wrong about the McCanns is a fate worse then death.

Other than attacking the motives of other posters have you actually anything to add to the thread since your ban was lifted,?because from what I can see it's the same behaviour as to what caused you to get a timeout before.

I don’t get this gloating? The reason Madeline was taken is essentially down to her parents leaving her unattended in a foreign country while they went out for the night, eating and drinking. At the end of the day, whoever took her or harmed her is responsible too but whether someone came in and took her from her room does not negate her parents responsibility. She is missing because they were “out on the piss”. Just because they were sipping wine and not pounding pints doesn’t make it any less so.

I’m glad we can now excuse all child abductors/murderers on the grounds that the child’s parents were to blame really for not being perfect.
The McCanns left their children 50 yards away for 1.5 hours during which time they were checked 3 times.
You can start a campaign to blame parents when their child is abducted/murdered on the grounds that a child who is not watched 24/7/365 is a victim of parental neglect and the abductor/murderer can’t be held responsible, but I’m not sure how well you’ll be received.

It’s interesting to me that your so interested in my ban and that your keen to warn me of my behaviour even though your not a mod. This is the second time you’ve mentioned it.
I had a couple of strangely similar PMs from a troll account which I was thinking about reporting.

They left their children four nights in a row for an unknown length of time. Maddie gave out to Kate and Gerry at breakfast for not coming to her and her brother when they woke crying the night before. The McCanns still left the children alone the following night that Maddie disappeared

Btw the McCanns apartment and the Tapas bar are a distance of 84 yards or 77.38 metres.

That’s quite a nasty thing to say. I think any normal right minded person would love for Madeline to be reunited with her family. Who’s right and who’s wrong is insignificant in the grand scheme of things. If she was abducted, I hope the perpetrator is caught and brought to justice, if it was her parents then I hope that the truth comes out eventually. What we do know is, the last people we know to have seen Madeline alive is her parents when they abandoned her to go for tapas and wine. They should have a lot more to answer for.

Casually ask anyone who grew up before the late 90s in Ireland were they allowed to play outside as a young child without supervision and you will get a lot of yes answers, I would suspect. Were the parents being neglectful monsters? They were, by modern standards. I mean, it certainly would have looked bad if anything bad had happened and the news reporters came down for an interview,

"You mean you let your YOUNG CHILD play outside ALL DAY and WITHOUT ANY SUPERVISION???!!!!"

Point being that the majority of parents throughout history have probably done stuff in rearing their kids that could be considered negligent, either totally unknowingly, or in a "Ah, shur be grand" kind of way. No, I'm not referring to you, the parent who has their kids in a maximum security creche, collected punctually, is watched for the following eight hours of homework, supervised playtime, evening meal, before going to bed in a secure room with double glazed windows and triple-locked door, so you can save it.

I'm not blaming the parents but surely you understand leaving your kids out playing at home in Ireland where everyone knows each other and neighbours keep an eye out is a little different to leaving your children alone in Tourist hot spot in Europe ,Where different people come and go every day ?

It's not a tourist hotspot in May.

    July and August, yes.

    Just to clarify.

We dont know what all 3 investigators have. But the germans said in june that new evidence make them believe she is probably dead. It has not been released to the public what this new evidence is so we cant even say the parents were the last to see her alive.

Point being that it's a bit rich to think of all the tabloid readers up and down the UK and Ireland tut-tutting when the read of the McCanns leaving the kids at the apartment as they did, when said readers probably did negligent stuff with their own kids at some point. It was obviously a negligent move by the McCanns, but I'd be surprised if every member of the tabloid press and every reader of those papers was in a genuine position to judge.

Which leads us back to the only publicly known fact, Maddie disappeared in 2007. So everyone is entitled to offer their opinion without the self righteous proclamation of others.
