Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Who else has bought a concert ticket recently?

Today I bought my first concert ticket in what seems like an eternity. Drab City playing the Grand Social next March. I'd never even heard of them until I read a tweet about them today. I listened to a few songs, thought they sounded a *tiny* bit like Portishead and took the plunge. It felt great!

Anybody else bought any tickets recently?

They've been recommended to me a few times.
Are they worth checking out and where would a fella start?

They only have one album and two eps... Start there, great band

Yeah, bought one for Rolling blackouts coastal fever in March and got one for the rescheduled Pixies gig in the Iveagh Gardens next Summer. It does indeed feel good.

I've only gotten into them myself in recent months but think they're great. Caught a couple of their live streams on facebook so cant wait to see them live now. They look like great craic too :D

Serious craic live. They used to be red enemy the metal band so their crowd is intense. 😂

so i had a listen - very good - i've seen them busking a few times and i'd say their shows are fairly lively affairs

But (gloves off) best band in the country is a bit of a stretch....

Best band in the country, not even close. They have adopted a sound that will limit their progression as a band and are almost a sort of novelty act. Red enemy were probably better.

Bought tickets yesterday for a gig in the button factory early November . 550 capacity , hoping it will go ahead . I imagine they can bring it down to 500 if that is the limit for indoor gigs before christmas

I bought tickets to Enuff Z'Nuff in the grand social in November.

I'd say they only have about 14 tickets sold as no one has ever heard of them (sacrilege) so hopefully it'll be ok to go ahead!

Bought for Ludovico's rescheduled gig in November...not sure how that's going to pan out.

Rip the great tradition of all night queuing

Never done it myself but remember seeing crowds freezing their bollocks off all night for the big shows

ah, that's a pity. I would buy often from the Stephen's Green booth to avoid the extra online fees.

I have list of (around 15) concerts/events that I would like to buy tickets for but at the moment I'm not, because it is very difficult to know what's going to happen. I have some that have already been postponed for 2021 and dates start getting close to each other on rescheduling.

The good thing is that many of them aren't the classic quick sold out type of gigs, therefore I will be able to find tickets for many of them even later on.

I really can't see many concerts happening before March. Many bands would have a tour schedule that would be financially viable if they were to do all gigs, and it is likely that we will have some levels of restrictions during the winter which would defer from country to country, thus making planning for artists a bit more difficult. This would be one year with no concerts!!! I reckon that when they restart I will want to go to as many as possible, even ones that I would have only a passing interest on the artist. In the meantime, I decided to start going through my Music DVD collection - not the same feeling obviously, but I guess it will have to do for now :)

Originally bought tickets for Rammstien (belfast) in July 2019, it's currently rescheduled for Jun 12th and I'm fully expecting it to get pushed to 2022, three years will defietely be the longest between buying tickets and actually getting to the gig.

I’ve started to hold fire because gigs and other bits are being rescheduled to the same date. I’ll see the lay of the land in the summer before I buy anything else.
