    Hi guys,

I need four new tyres for my Passat GT, tyre size is 235/45 18.

I'm not looking to get anything too premium like Conti's or Michelin Primacy's.

i Had a look around online and Maxxis Premitra come out well in testing versus some of the other more premium tyres (See here). Best quote I got for these in Cork was for €110 per corner fitted. The Michelins or Conti's were up around €160 per corner. I got a quote too for Uniroyal Rainsport 5's for €130 a corner, had rainsport 3's in the past on a different car and they were decent.

I've never used Maxxis tyres though, has anyone here and would they recommend?

    Thanks!

Thanks, nothing there that I'd go for over the quotes I've gotten so far. I rang 4 or 5 places around Cork, huge variations in price for the same tyres I found.

Cheapest quote I got was €75 fitted for Accelera's

235 by all accounts it a bit of uncommon size

It is, as is the one the OP is looking for. 225/40 is cheap as chips.

Soft sidewalls make shoulders wear fast.

Conti or Michelin or Goodyear or pirelli will last double the time.

Try banks for pirelli. Cheaper than most

Any continentals I’ve ever had on vans or cars have worn down really quickly.
