Favourite Song Intro

    That instrumental first notes of a song, the first notes play it takes mili-seconds for you to recognise the tune. The more I think about it the more I find, there are so many but I'll keep it to three:

    Alternative Ulster - SLF

    You Know You're Right - Nirvana

    Streams of Whiskey - Pogues

    Tommy Gun by the Clash is distinctive.

    I also like the intro to Straight to Hell by the Clash For a time The Pogues used to come out to it at the beginning of their concerts can’t remember if Joe Strummer was playing with them or Shane Macgowan at the time.

    Ah, it can be vary easy to put up a list of a wide range of Rock and Blues songs. And it's something that's often been on my mind. But if I ever think of a starting point for a song, that pulls you through the rest of it, it's very hard for me to think of anything other than "Safari Duo - Played a Live."
