This piece of marble is going to be a splash back on this piece of panelling

Ideally if someone changes their mind about it I’d like to be able to remove it without totally destroying what’s behind

    Any ideas ?

Personally I think its too thick and looks out of place. So I probably wouldn't use and adhesive as it will pull off the plaster immediately.

Only 12mm thick believe it or not

And it’s going onto panelling not plaster

For things like this I would recommend silicone rather than no more nails, you can run a bead around the outside and when you want to remove it, just run a blade around and off she pops.
no more nails is probably going to take paint and possible some wood off with it...

Would silicone hold it ? It’s pretty heavy

Ah yeah, its almost creating a vacuum so its a very strong hold.
Now if you started to work it loose you could peel it off, but it wouldnt just fail and/or fall off by itself.
