A lot of engine issues and retirement today. The skysports team reckon it could be down to cars being inactive the last few weeks. What do you guys think?

    Perez nearly took Norris out

Ocon's onboard sounds like a blender when he's accelerating.
The blender would be more reliable.

Perez the only one to put on Mediums? Thought most would have done it. Would understand Merc going Hards to try and have less racing between their two drivers but thought everyone else would make mediums work til the end handy enough.

Putting aside my obvious bias in favour of Racing Point and Perez, that looked an unsafe release

A combination of factors, much warmer than expected, thinner air at altitude which hinders cooling, and it's the first race of the season.

My guess is that the engine suppliers can't provide on-site support.

That said, there were quite a few mechanical failures in the F2/F3 races.

That Merc GTR safety car sounds a million times better than anything else out there

As long as Perez doesn't get a penalty, he's on mediums while everyone else around him is on hards.

How many sets of hards did each team have? Could have sworn there was a race with 1 set, would be interesting if they haven't had running on them already.

    Terrible from Vettel

The only correct decision Ferrari have made is ousting vettel from their ranks... that move sums up his last 3 seasons

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,865 ✭✭✭✭PopePalpatine

Public lobby shenanigans from Seb there.

Even after the safety car and Vettel's spin, Latifi is still miles away at the back

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,947 ✭✭✭✭flazio

Is fastest lap point still a thing?

They didn't wait for him to catch the field when he unlapped himself.

Perez could be good for a podium. Don't get why everyone went for Hard tyres.

He had unlapped himself and hadn't rejoined the back of the train before the safety car pulled in.
