Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    It says you can’t use a free email and I don’t have a paid email address, can someone help me out please?

    I think its to try make it more exclusive to join so there is less trolls, fake accounts, etc but like Neogaf which did the same thing it will probably all end in tears eventually.

    I remember I tried to join up to NeoGaf years ago but I was declined or something. And I don't think you were allowed to apply again either.

    That used to be the policy with neogaf as well until the mass exodus and formation of resetera.
    I just read them more for news than anything

    You can read for free without joining but you can’t have dark mode on all the time and that’s annoying for follow threads sadly

    Hey I just checked there and they accept protonmail accounts. Protonmail have paid options but you can just make a free account as well. Should work.

    Nope they don’t accept proton mail because proton offers a free trial

    Strange, they accepted mine........Although I was one of the first with a ProtonMail back in 2014 so maybe my account is special.

    You're out of luck I'm afraid as I still use it :pac:

    You could try setting up your own mail server at home. Although thats a lot of work for a resetera account IMO.
