Happily, "the electorate" isn't quite as dumb as you'd like it to be. The extra seats, if any, that SF may win, will mainly be in sink constituencies where the losers will be the other parties of the left.

No idea where you are going with this, I don't want a dumb electorate but there is a good chance the scenario I suggested might happen and I'm not a SF voter at all.

I vote either FF or FG.

I don't think she did enough to get the justice minister job maybe a lesser role in arts and tourism. Herself and Donnelly will be the main targets for the opposition as they will be seen as weak. Martin will need to watch his back now as well, I knew he was desperate to be Taoiseach but didn't realise he was that desperate that he would do what he has done.

Generally, she was like an automaton basically repeating the lines she was given. I saw no real passion for the job.

Just saying, I don't know if she has what it takes, we'll see.

My bets are on Donnelly's head rolling first then hers. Based on the jobs they have to do and their perceived abilities.

5 years is a long time....even from Mary Lou point of view will she be around in 5 years

My view is better be in power and affect change than sitting in the background hoping someone makes a mistake.

Too many things can change to sit and hope it’s doesn’t go right for everyone else

I think you are spot on. SF always wanted this scenario (FFG in govt) especially when they saw the looming economic recession that will shred the PFG and cause a lot of pain. The now have time to lead the opposition and make household names of some of their new TDs. I doubt the new government will last beyond 2022 anyway.
