Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    quick question

I placed an order for collection, I got a text with a reservation number and it said we'll text when the item is in store for collection.

it's supposed to be there tomorrow and I've to travel for it, so what do they mean by their text? it's not there but will be?

They will send you another text when its in store. Dont travel until they do. I have reserved items before which never then arrived to store although it said it will be available to collect between certain dates

Seems the same on all sites too not just Argos. Maybe an update as it's had a slight makeover a couple of weeks ago and there was talk on here from the site dev about looking into it.

Anyone know how long they usually take to give delivery time ? Ordered Monday and got confirmation and it said would receive delivery email within 3 days .Still haven’t heard anything and they don’t ans emails

Stupid question, but when reserving an item that isn't in stock, do you need to wait for another email before you can collect it?

As in, I reserved an item yesterday, it wasn't in stock in my store, but it said "Order now for collection from Tuesday-Thursday". So, can I collect the item today, or do I need to wait until another email comes in?

They text you when it's ready for collection.

Also bear in mind that if you didn't get a text/email with an actual reservation number, then it won't be coming in. Sometimes they allow you to reserve an out of stock item, when it isn't coming into stock.

If you did get your reservation number, then you'll get another message when it's available in store.

Thanks a lot! I got the reservation number so it should be coming in to the shop!

Been trying to reserve a petrol hedge trimmer (either of 2 models) for the last few weeks on Argos.ie but no sign of any stock. The other day the listing was updated to show that it was reduced. Incredibly frustrating.

Fossil smart watch. Dropped to lowest price (119e) as was previously looking at getting this at much higher price.

Music player on it, is the biggest plus when compared to Huawei smartwatch

Charging daily will break your heart, bad enough that most phones have to be charged daily too. You'll get decent smart watches that can last 5-7 days, and even some lasting 10-12 days with slightly less functionality for not much more than that.

Confirmation says you pay the price on the day of collection. Prices are not fixed

Thanks for confirming seems like a bit of a scam then on their part item was in stock when I reserved but only got confirmation for collection on day the price went back up how are you supposed to get items at reduced price in this case ?

Some store managers will give you the original price, it can be a case of luck.

you're best chance was arguing with them in store. they wont give you a refund for the difference after you bought it.

Just to update brought item back to return this morning and they refunded the difference no questions asked once I showed receipt and reservation email.

Nice one! I had the same issue last week price was €10 dearer than I had reserved. When I pointed this out they checked on the system and let me have the item at the sale price. It seems that they have a 'soft' policy of honoring the reserved price if queried but will try to sell at the new price first.

Does anyone know where you can put in a promotional code for a discount?
There’s 25% off Silent Night products at the moment with a code but I can’t see anywhere to actually put in that code!
    Thanks

There is a box for a promotional code on the right hand side of the ‘order summary page’, (step 3)

When you add to basket and after you’ve logged in or registered and gave your delivery details, (step1), click to the next page (step 2), click continue to go to step 3 and you should be able to see it in step 3.

Is the SN code on their site? I couldn't see it.

Found it. Thought it'd be on a banner, didn't realise it was on the actual products.

I remember being in the Ilac one shortly after it opened, some pure Dub woman shouting to her mate "Maarrgarett, they're giving away free bewks" and people were snatching up loads of them each. When I was next in it the they were behind the counter so you had to ask.

Ah the days when the new catalogue provoked much excitement. Needless to say the Christmas ones were the best.

Wouldn't be surprised if there will still be some moaning about it though. Coming to a Liveline episode soon. "Not all of us are on the internet, Joe".

I always assumed they expected to go the way of blockbuster because of amazon etc and were just spending as little as possible until theyre no longer profitable. Seems strange for such a large company to have such a brutal website
