    Hi,

I recently picked up a job with a company in another European country. The way it will work is that I am self employed, and I send an invoice to them at the end of every month with my hours/fee.

For this I need a VAT number, and as far as I understand, I pay the taxes myself at the end of the year.

I have signed up for myAccount at revenue.ie, but I have to wait for the verification to come in the post.

Do I need to register for ROS too or is myAccount enough? Where do i go from there to get a VAT number?

    Thanks

You need Ros as the vat returns are made in Ros.
You need fo fill out an ask for VAT query within my enquires in ros.
make clear in the application that it is X border work
The rules are that you can't charge vat till you are registered, which might take 6 week, so maybe get payments on account

You need to wait for the Vat number but generally it will be the same as your pps number if you applied as a sole trader

Thanks for the info. What do you mean by "get payments on account?" For now they've paid me my first invoice with the agreement that I'll amend it with my tax info when I have it
