I have a shed/workshop/store at my parents place and I'm struggling to get insurance on it. It's 100% non farming related although my tractor and plough are in it. Anyone got a contact for a company that might consider it..have been talking to fbd and they don't want to know although if I could get talking to a rep that was dealing with this kinda thing all the time it may be different...Anyone any suggestions???

Can you not just get it covered under your parents house insurance as a garage?

Or just cover it under farm insurance, its storing tractors so not going to be an issue saying its for farm use.

Why do you need to get insurance for it?

I have just heard so many stories about insurance companies refusing to pay out that I insure as little as possible.

When he said it was a workshop, I taught it might be in use as a commercial enterprise. In that case while insurance companies may insure it for you, they might not pay up in the case of an incident.

However in OP case I insure it as s garage or a farm shed which ever is handiest.

Can't find anyone to even quote me as a farm shed because I don't have any other farm related insurance and it's too big to get added onto parents house insurance I'm told.begining to question if I do need cover on it but just be peace of mind in case of a fire or theft etc..sorting out my own house cover in the last few days and that has made me think of it.
