ideally someone would cut out the middleman and wailin will get his 24k or whatever he wants and someone else will save having to buy it for 27k when a trader sticks it up on donedeal with the same pics from his ad :D

21k is too low lads, she's worth a lot more than that, especially if they are going from dealers for 27k. It's well specced and I guarantee it's in better condition than any other 535d/530d currently for sale.

I've already been offered 23k from a dealer on the m3 in Kildare, without seeing the car. Plus his m3 was 7k cheaper than the two same year m3's from bmw dealers.

It's no doubt a fine car but I don't think dealers asking 27k get 27k.
there's likely a wad built in there for trade ins etc as not many people buying a 27k car from a dealer don't have a trade in, IMO.

2014 535d with base spec, doesn't even have wide screen sat nav....€27500. Not a main bmw dealer either.

    https://www.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/bmw-5-series-2014142-535d-m-sport-buy-online/24065487

Someone could buy my one for 24k and get the extended bmw warranty for a lot less. I think asking for 24k straight sale is very fair for the car you get.

Edit: That 21k offer from a trader is certainly an option btw and I'm not offended by it in anyway at all. My ad is only up a few days and I'm willing to wait a bit longer. There's absolutely no rush.

I'd agree with Wailin, I think 21k is a little low for that car. To be expected though that a trader would make a cheeky offer but even if giving a warranty on resale I'd say they were still allowing a healthy profit in that offer given they would probably be spending nothing on flipping it over for resale. Given Wailin only put the car up for sale last weekend I wouldn't panic into accepting that offer so quickly.

440i sold surprisingly enough. Chap traded in a 19 A4. Would love to know what the trade in deal was, but obviously that A4 would be a lot more appealing to Bolands to move on than a 3 litre diesel.

The entire discussion in this thread probably helped sell it.

This was the original advert video for it btw: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gitPJUfVqGo&feature=youtu.be

and equally there I was out of nowhere pricing up insurance etc for myself on wailins 535d, despite the fact I'm working from home with basically no need for any sort of diesel mileage oh and no 24k to spend :pac:

They call you to tell you it was gone?
You thought of calling to beshoffs?
Your car would be up their street and they would get you a car To your spec too from what others have said.

Someone from bolands rang me today. I rang back and the junior sales guy I was dealing with said he didn't call...told me the car was sold. Bit odd.

Question, what would that 440i be worth in two years?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,402 ✭✭✭vintagevrs

Just double checking, but when you get the M3 what order are you giving us all a lend of it for a weekend for? Is it most helpful posts on the topic, or those that live closest or what you thinking?

Just want to have an idea of what weekend to keep free. I'm in no rush by the way

    Cheers

Odd indeed. Someone trading an A4 for a 440i seems a bit of an odd story too. The left hand doesn't seem to know what the right hand is doing in that place. Hard to know what to make of the whole thing and if it's genuinely sold or they are actually reading this thread and trying to cool the bad PR. Or maybe I'm giving them too much credit?

Wow! I had forgotten it was 60k when originally up for sale.
I could easily see someone trading A4 for something like it, a bit different and pokey.
At 46k, as we have said it was not expensive for what it is.
Definitely odd to get a phone call and then call to hear it’s sold though.

The two 2016 M3’s are still up on Carzone, in joe Duffy’s and Morissons although both are sold supposedly.

With wfh loads don't need a diesel any more. A4 to 440i doesn't seem overly strange IMO.

It's one thing going from diesel to petrol if your working from home now but I just think going from a 150/190bhp fwd car to a 326bhp rwd would be quite a jump for most people and rare in my view. Maybe they meant S4.

Anyone in Ireland buying a 440i is rare :)

Hard to believe anything been said from that garage the way they carried on with Wailin.

Yes, they seem like total goons.

Well I am hoping to go at some stage from a 2.0 diesel estate 5 series to a more performance oriented car next hopefully and have done similar in the past.

Bolands do seem like a poor crowd to do business with though. They seem to have it sewn up in the south east.
As far as I know they run a garage for every brand down there.

Mmm 2019, M340i, cheaper than the M3 and 3 years fresher.

That’s one horrific colour scheme though, the flat grey and the red/black leather is just as bad

    The m3 is £5k cheaper isn't it??

I like that colour scheme and the spec is very good too.

Wallin I understand your hankering for a change of direction but I think that a new model 530d is probably the best choice for you all things considered.yes slightly down on power but a different world in terms of the f10.cabin , technology etc and a fabulous drive.
An m3 sounds great but difficult to live with everyday , running costs , ride, security Etc.
I get the petrol thing though as it obviously fllows through the veins !
Wish you luck in your search .

That colour combination for the M340i is horrendous.

Also, why does it not have front fogs as standard? Are they all like that? I know they did it with F10s also, but I can't understand why BMW is omitting front fogs on so many of their modern cars.
