^^^ Compare and contrast. Siger's OP (not Limerick) and my photo: everything on the intertubes is a lie.

Imagine seeing your photo TMBS, going "Oh that looks like a nice place to visit, off I go" then ending up getting there, staring at the back end of a donkey, thinking "what did I do to deserve this".

*squints* Is that a dam? Yellow (non-temporary) speed signs might suggest Sverige?

I'm guessing it may be a temporary sign. Finland & Sweden are very flat countries bar the far north. Doesn't look like their vegetation.

perhaps Iceland, but it looks like a warmer country........

It could well be a temporary sign, hard to find a definitive answer on that for the country in question. It's not a Scandinavian country anyway.

    Boom!

    Mratinje Dam, Montenegro.

I recognised it the moment I saw it, we were supposed to be out there on a bike/hiking tour this summer. Great whitewater rafting in that area as well.

    Damn you COVID.

Yes, it's Sahagun. Thousands pass that bridge every year on the Camino.

    Well done, you're up.

    Ok, hint.
EU country, doesn't use Latin alphabet

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 711 ✭✭✭Three More Big Sleeps

It's entirely possible I may be taking this challenge too seriously.

Here, I have in front of me a mad Venn diagram of EU countries, countries that use Cyrillic (five), countries that use(d) Cyrillic but have a Latin equivalent (Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia), countries that have their own non-Latin and non-Cyrillic alphabet (Greece and Cyprus) and countries that I thought were European but aren't (Armenia and Georgia).
