I hate quoting this rag but it’s latest news

Parental advisory on the piece, it’s not for the faint hearted, could be upsetting to read. :(

It’s hell of shot of reading too. It will prompt discussion for sure.
    https://www.google.ie/amp/s/www.thesun.ie/news/5505248/madeleine-mccann-latest-news-update/amp/

It’s absolutely horrific. I almost hope he had nothing to do with it, seeing as he enjoys torturing victims.

If it’s not him, at least the whole of Europe knows his face now.

Additionally, the news outlets are so annoying, they keep posting breaking news as news that has already been reported. As well as writing large articles that are basically the same sentence repeated over and over in different formations!

Nothing suggests it but it’s a high percentage but that’s a guess but if the stories Christian B are saying are a tad true she’s gone, sadly.

They said they started drinking at 8pm before they even left the apartment for dinner. As far as I remember the tapas bar staff said the table had several bottles of wine during the evening. Kate did her check around 10pm if memory serves me right, but that was just a check with the intention of going back to the tapas bar.

Several bottles between 7 or was it 9 people is about 2 or 3 glasses of wine each, it's hardly Keith Richards behaviour.

I can understand the McCanns saying they believe she could be alive. It's not surprising pretty much everyone else accepting her fate.

This became high profile almost immediately, and it's likely her abductor murdered her within a short time of her abduction. It may be some small comfort to think that the torture bravado was likely just sick boasting.

Well put it this way if any child needed to go to the local hospital none of them would of been legally able to drive. I would like to know who else has kids there from the Tapas group, ages and how close they were to Madeleines apartment and had they seen anyone or heard anything the previous nights or that fateful night. This has never been discussed.

Her distinctive eye marking and the fact she was on every TV within a short period was both amazing and panicked whoever was involved. What’s the timeline to as and when Mc Canns called The Police? I can’t recall.

Very true. Yes I agree. (But edited also to say I don't know for sure if any of them were teetotal and could drive. But, if they were all drinking, then yes, no one would be able to bring them to hospital if any accident occurred)

The McCanns hadn’t even rented a car at that point, in fact most people who go on those package style holidays don’t rent cars anyway so it’s a moot point. That’s what taxis are for.

All of the Tapas group had kids of their own, all were quite young. Bar Jane Tanners false sighting I don’t believe any of them heard or saw anything suspicious

None of them had a car anyway , there are taxis in Pda L

Of course not - it was forensically disproven by hair samples taken from the twins.

Doesn't matter, gotta keep demonising the McCanns at all costs!

Wasn't that a year later, after a haircut? Damn facts.

That was a quick back track. So from not been able to look after the children the next day they had a drink with dinner:P:P

Jesus, awful story. And the bit about Amaral, the lead detective of that case and Madeleines case.

You'd nearly think he has a vested interest in misdirecting both cases at this stage. Couple that with him even speaking out now insisting Christian B is innocent!!

Didn’t back track on anything, your description of booze and mine obviously differ, you are impaired after 2/3 glasses of wine. So they had booze, drink & alcohol each night by reports so call it whatever suits but they weren’t at 100% to hear anything happening.

    Damn facts, lol.

It was less than six months later and hair grows from the root, therefore a haircut wouldn't have made any difference either way.

None of them had a car hired so even if they where stone cold sober they would be in a taxi

    Keep digging

The more you read into the handling of cases in Portugal the more you think wtf? This Amaral guy well it’s easy to say this German guy will be scapegoated, but is it because he is, or is it to try and add more fudge to the investigation or lack of by Portuguese authorities and those in charge at that time????? He seems to be investigated for many child disappearances. His ex girlfriends statement makes me wonder, did she not put 2 and 2 together, or how did she not.....

The Portuguese police fudged things from day one.
It’s so frustrating to think of what DNA and evidence might have been found at the scene had they sealed it off and preserved it properly as they were supposed to.

There was so many people in and out of the apartment in the aftermath, not just the McCanns and the tapas 7 but other tourists helping with the initial search, hotel staff and eventually the police.
By the time the sealed it off any evidence left by the abductor could well have been destroyed or so contaminated it couldn’t be picked up on.

It’s galling to think about how long ago this could have been solved if they had just done that one little thing.

Whar about the cadaver dog pinpointing area behind couch where there was a dead body in apartment 5a.

Dinner was at 8 . Kate noticed her missing at 10

Gerry supposedly went to check but didn't go into her room (horrific stuff)

So the alleged kidnapper could've been gone 2 hours

Road checks pointless at that stage . Long gone

The mcanns, the tapas 7 and hotel staff were all in the appartment before the police had time to arrive.

So? The McCanns, the Tapas 7 and the hotel staff aren’t professional police officers and wouldn’t have even been thinking of preserving the scene. That isn’t their job or their responsibility.

When the police arrived they didn’t seal off the apartment.
They went in and out, let others in and out, and made no effort to preserve any evidence.
They seriously dropped the ball and their actions were highly unprofessional.
It was hours later before they finally did it by which time any evidence would have been destroyed or contaminated. That’s on them and no one else.
If they have done what they were supposed to this could have been solved years ago.

The police arrived late, gave no advice to the people when they rang and didn't seal off the apartment.

They made a complete balls of the whole situation and then tried to point the finger at the McCanns.

Anthony Summers said the apartment was washed clean of evidence and he’s been deep into this investigation from day one. The question is who washed it clean and who had the time to do it. Especially with Gerry checking but not going into the apartment. Portuguese didn’t know how to handle it, thought of tourism first and the child after it seems.

I believe they had to call the police twice and it took over an hour for them to show up from the time of the initial call to report Madeleine missing.

I think the one thing we can agree on that the Portuguese police had an absolute shocker. Everyone else had to clean up after them.

That’s not true, 15 sets of fingerprints were found in the apartment. Two were confirmed to be that of Kate & one of the First police officers on the scene, the rest were unusable as they were contaminated.

Over 100 hair sampling’s were found, most were belonging to people with legitimate reason to be in the apartment but 17 samples couldn’t be traced back to any known person.

A sample that had first been thought to be semen was found to actually be the saliva of a child who had previously stayed in apartment 5A earlier that season.

So the apartment most certainly wasn’t deep cleaned and wasn’t sterile, particularly when you consider that saliva from a previous occupant was still present.

If the fingerprints had been properly preserved, who knows what they could have found. If it was that German guy, his DNA would have already been in the system and it could have been solved years ago. It’s depressing to even think about it.

Thanks for clearing that up, gives me a much better picture :)
Those 17 samples could of solved this plus maybe Summers was talking about the Portuguese police deep cleaning the apartment after cause it was hired out close enough to after all this happened if I recall correctly.

‘It’s ludicrous to suggest the McCanns hid Madeleine’s body’ say Anthony Summers

From what I can see he said nothing of the sort about washed clean evidence.

The section I have found says "They do not support the notion that anyone cleaned the wall in an attempt to obliterate evidence"
