Happy Gilmore or airhead for comedies. Uncut gems was brilliant as well

Probably has to be punch drunk love. But he's actually had a few very good ones. Happy Gilmore, funny people in query a shout. I enjoyed billy madison, the Waterboy, little nicky, Mr deeds, reign over me. Uncut gems was excellent too.

I really enjoyed the one where he got the universal remote. The title escapes me, but the movie really clicked with me.

    Punch-drunk love or uncut gems.
I really like the wedding singer as well.

He doesn't half do a lot of rubbish in general though.

None in the last 10 years.

Happy Gilmore was good and Big Daddy was watchable
    Waterboy was good too actually

I have a soft spot for that's my boy with Andy Samberg.

My favourites are Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison.

That's My Boy was the best I thought.

Wedding Singer, Punch Drunk Love, Uncut Gems were great as well.

I am not a fan but I liked him in Spanglish and in Reign over Me

    I enjoyed The Wedding Singer

Conversely, The Water Boy was one of the worst films I've ever seen.

Punch Drunk Love / Uncut Gems - two exceptional films with exceptional performances from Sandler. Anderson and the Safdies understood Sandler’s character in a deep and insightful way, and leveraged that slightly unhinged nature to astounding effect.

    *large gap*

Funny People - very mixed bag of a film, but decent, self-reflective performance from Sandler.

    *very large gap*

Some of the earlier, slightly less irritating comedies, and the fumbled attempts at prestige performances.

    *another very large gap*

    All the rest.

Are you talking about an “Adam Sandler Movie” or a movie that stars Adam Sandler?

I think the two are very different.

You don’t mess with the Zohan is very underrated.

Most of his older stuff is funny.
Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Big Daddy, Waterboy, Wedding Singer, Mr. Deeds, Anger Management etc

Jack and Jill and That’s My Boy his most awful.

Happy Gilmore and Uncut Gems, for me.

The former was Adam Sandler at his peak during the comedy run, the latter was what convinced me the man is a waste of phenomenal talent 90% of the time.

Happy Gilmore, and even then the main reason why I like it is because of Christopher McDonald. I haven't seen Uncut Gems, yet.

    Has to be Little Nicky

Uncut Gems by a long long way

Looking at his filmography he has some roll of shame, Click, Pixels, Zohan, Jack & Jill, The Cobbler, Zookeeper, Just go with it, Grown Ups, The Waterboy,Bulletproof, The Do Over.

Half of that would kill off most careers so it's amazing he's managed to keep going.

He should stop producing his own stuff, focus on acting as he's clearly talented and become more selective about scripts and maybe skip comedies.

When you say Adam Sandler Movie , i think of his comedy work primarily.

Serious Role - Stuck between Uncut Gems & The Meyerowitz Stories
Comedy - Happy Gilmore - It was perfectly of its time , Tiger Woods was getting going and the interest in Golf by those with no interest or clue was rising fast.

I love the Wedding Singer, I've seen that film too many times. Followed by Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison.
