Will a second hand Vodafone router work for me?

    Hi
    I was switched from Eir to Vodafone but am still waiting on a modem from Vodafone so cannot access the internet.

    I tried to reconfigure the Eir modem to no avail.

    If i purchased a second hand Vodafone modem will that help me or are they locked to the owners address?

    Vodafone say the modem will arrive in a few days. No idea why they'd switch my service without knowing I had the modem in hand. Terrible service.

    That is a real bummer and they could leave you waiting for ages. I am assuming you are on fibre and the modem you need is the HG659, when you get it just reset it and plug it in, it will then connect automatically. They are on adverts.ie but how people can charge 50.00 is beyond me as VF asked for mine back when it broke and gave me a free replacement.

    I have mine in bridge mode hooked up to a netgear router and to be fair to VF the thing has worked perfect for about 5 years.
