I have Premier Sports through Now TV and a UK Amazon Prime account, so both streaming and was able to directly compare the two when Amazon last broadcast a round of games.

Absolutely laughable. I've never seen anything look as good as the Prime stream and haven't seen a stream look as bad as Premier Sports since about 2005. Even the dodgy streams I've used over the past 10 years would be head and shoulders above Premier Sports. Sky Sports and BT look absolutely fine through Now TV too so that wasn't the issue.

Yeah even Premier Sports when it was on the normal TV was terrible. Same with Eir sport until a couple of years ago when they have put a bit more into it.

The prime streams for the Sports that they show are all absolutely fantastic and I do hope they continue to buy up games

Only thing with the streaming I find is the lag (I've poor enough internet where I am now). Got now tv for first weekend of Bundesliga and was getting live score notifications well before the goal (at one stage got notification for a goal before a game had kicked off on stream). Have to go the satellite subscription route then to have any quality

Yeah you need to stay off your phone. I had friends using this as a black mark against Amazon but I've been streaming games legally and otherwise for 10+ years without a TV subscription so completely used to it now.

Yeah I wouldnt blame Amazon, same happened sky go. With crap internet, itll be a while before I go full streaming. It is the future though, and I think UBS will get better deals for themselves

NowTV up until recently only streamed at 720p as well but I’m sure it wasn’t even that quality.

It’s also laughable(if I read it correctly) that you can now pay extra to get 1080p streams on it. Typical gouging by Sky. Charging extra for HD in this day and age is a joke.

I remember Premier Sports didn't have the advertised match choice until the second half had started of all those games.

I ended up switching back to Premier Sports on sky because Amazon was over a minute behind. Had to turn notifications on on the phone too because goal alerts were coming through ages before the goals were score on the stream.

Need to stay off boards and stuff too.

    EDIT, Mushy got there first.

Nah I loved Amazons coverage. Just put the phone away during game.

Yeah I just put it in another room, good time to charge it.

I actually find the slight delay useful. It means I get notification of an upcoming goal, and I find myself paying more attention to the build up play.

I always stick my phone on silent and facedown for games. I do stream all games so there’s always a slight delay no matter who the provider.

Amazons coverage was great I thought. A real surprise. PQ was spectacularly good too.

i liked how on the amazon coverage you could turn the commentary off as well,

although for the merseyside derby Ally McCoist sounded like a giddy schoolchild at his first match haha

That's great news for a lot of younger players who would otherwise be struggling for minutes with packed squads.

It’s fine as a temporary measure till the end of the season but if it’s introduced for good (and I have a bad feeling it will be) then it will be a very poor move for the game as it will massively favour the bigger clubs and allow them to stockpile more talent as they will have more playing time available for bit part players so it decreases the likelihood of those sorts of players moving to get more playing time.

The rule is a temp rule in place until Dec 31st or the end of the current season. Which ever happens first. It's about the fitness of players who haven't played in 3 months going straight into the season at the hottest time of the year when they're usually on holidays or in preseason, not about giving the big clubs a boost.

As things stand the smaller teams already don't have the squads to deal with a game every 3/4 days for 6 weeks. Having the extra subs will help to avoid fatigue and injury.

Yeah I would not be a fan myself of this coming in long term either. Short term yes, but long term no.

There is a rule for a 4th sub for games that go to Extra Time and I happy enough with that as it is.

    Makes sense

I expect a fair few injuries in the first couple of games. More so from cramp ect

Actually posted this originally in wrong thread in error

    Relates to the subs rule

Don't think there's been any increase in injuries in the bundesliga. Did they change to 5 subs too, I haven't been paying attention.

As for the big club thing. Let's be honest, there are no "small clubs" in the pl. Everyone has a squad full of internationals and are paying their players 50 grand a week and upwards.

5 subs will suit the big teams that have better squads

that is not true at all, at villa for example i dont even think there is one player in the squad that earns over 50k a week. i would suspect the same at a lot of the clubs in lower half of premier league

There was an increase in muscle related injuries in the 1st few games in the start up games of the bundesliga and are also using 5 subs

Goal reckon Grealish is on 100k a week.

    https://www.goal.com/en-ie/news/jack-grealish-net-worth-contract-salary-sponsorships/8zcbgigd2fsu180fm3qojkmsy#:~:text=The%20midfielder%20had%20previously%20doubled,(%246.5m)%20a%20year.

I think youre underestimating what players at the bottom end of the table are on.

Cant see Troy Deeney being on less than 50k .

Fair enough . All the stuff I've seen has been about no drop intensity or stats.
