Fairly strong onshore breeze here at the moment

Must be close to 15 knots, a lot breeze than yesterday's

for the first time ever, malin head appears to be the warmest place in Ireland right now :)

22 degrees at Malin Head at 11am

21 degrees at phoenix park and casement

Just out for a walk here in Dublin, stunning day

Malin Head has taken top spot on a few other occasions when winds were southerly. Currently 15 knots there.

Donegal Airport is very windy in comparison with the rest of the country, southerly at 27 knots.

malin head and mount dillon warmest spots at 12pm. Both 23 degrees with Phoenix Park, Casement and Dunsany at 22. Cork seems to be coldest at 15 degrees

    22.1°c in Kildare and windy.

About 17 degrees in Cork City, slightly above the airport readings. Hazy sunshine but some blue skies starting to break through. Windy enough at times too

While it may not be totally accurate regards true angle of the wind, a nice graphic to see how parts of Dublin can fare well with the SE/SSE winds -> https://euweather.eu/ . Quite a sizeable land track for the likes of P.Park. Much less so for those with Dublin bay to their SE including the airport.

Quite breezy here in D9, more so than yesterday. Decent bit of high cloud around currently too so a bit of bite taken out of the sun the last while as it's gone largely hazy. 'Fine' sums it up. EDIT: Thickest of the high cloud seems to have abated and only gentle haze remains. Botanic Gardens site was 19.7 degrees at 1 PM.

23C now at Dunshaughlin, a degree or two higher than this time yesterday, stronger breeze and more hazy sunshine compared yesterday.

Do you really think the hourly reports are manually typed in by someone so I could stand over them a whip them to put in the decimal? It's all automated and taken from the synop reports, which are themselves reported decimalised. The system therefore does the rounding itself. All it takes is a few clicks by IT to change the setting (it's not the meteorologists' job) and it's done.

Exactly. It’s likely automated. And changing it so that a hobbyist can make note of the exact temperature - not very important. It might not be much work but it’s also of little importance.

Anyhoo, weather conditions: hazier today in my part of Dublin but feels warmer.

Much more hazy bordering on cloudy here this pm. Was a beautiful morning. Last night was a peach of an evening though absolutely glorious. Wind is back today too. Hopefully the weekend stays good would like to see a bit more sun and a bit less wind.

Why do you think giving out the exact temperature would be of 'little importance' to the general public? If that is the case, then reporting even rounded figures would be of little value to them also. In fact, your comment seems to suggest that the public are too stupid to understand any number to the right of a decimal point.

But consider that currently, global temps are currently running at 0.5c above normal while tomorrow it is expected to go down to 0.4c. So how do we dumb this down these figures for the public? Easy. today, global temps are 1.0c above normal, while tomorrow it will drop down 0.0c, bang on average.

There's no point [/pun] arguing the point [/pun] as she just doesn't get it (the point of the point...)

Big improvement in D9 since 4pm as the high cloud shifted north. Can't get a reading from Botanic Gardens so the DCU Smart Bench will have to do. 21.2 degrees. Breeze died down too.

While it was cooler, more hazy today in Cork City, it was still about 18 degrees. Was able to walk around in shorts and a t-shirt and the breeze was surprisingly warm so it was a lovely day yet again.

Waterford has had the advantage (I reckon!) of a fresh breeze to take the edge off the heat/humidity - very pleasant.

Days possibly becoming a little cooler after that.

This week coming doesn't look like it will cool as quickly, some of the models begin the cooldown on Wednesday while others delay it into next weekend.

The GEM gives us a very warm to potentially hot day on Friday 5th of June, The GEM also doesn't really get us properly into the northerly either and we just stay on the warm and and very dry side right into the following week.

Latest GFS also giving us quite a warm day on Friday too, delaying the cold into next weekend with low 20's possible in places up to Saturday.Southern half of the country likely to stay under warmer conditions for that bit longer.

    11am, Mt Dillon 23C, Casement on 22C.

21C here in Meath, a degree up on this time yesterday. Very little breeze too, if that continues today is going to be a hot one for many.

Back to the blue skies in cork city! About 18 degrees and a bit of a breeze from the south east but it's lovely.
