Quick question about roof for John Roberts square

Can anyone remember if there were proposals to put a roof on the square floated about 2008/09. I have a very vague memory of something of that nature. found it https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055651484 looks like a clever ides now!

Agree, putting roofs on public areas, no matter where is nearly always a good idea.

I think the idea is that it could then be used to encourage events to be held there, regular markets, concerts etc. etc. More footfall is always a good thing.

Was the plan to put a roof in Arundel square as well? Was this announced around the time they said they were roofing the Apple market.
