Semi-slick MTB 26in?

My Felt Q200 hardtail has 26in 2.1 54-559 tyres , and spends most of the time on fairly rough country roads, and maybe some forest trails or what have you when restrictions are lifted further. The back tyre used to be knobbly, but is pretty worn down now. My other bike (retired) has a Schwalbe Land Cruiser with Kelvar guard, at 1.75 or so. Anyway, I've been eyeing the Schwalbe Hurricane Performance, but it's hard to find in 26in at any reasonable price, especially factoring in shipping. Anything else I should look at? Naturally I want speed, silence, comfort, some off-road ability, puncture resistance, great price....thanks!

What's your idea of expensive? You can find tyres online for €60 delivered which I'd have thought was reasonable.

I've had narrow slicks on mine is mainly for commuting. Completely useless on a trail, even wet grass its issueless, no grip and rock hard. But really great on the road. Hard but fast.

I've been using one of the kids bikes lately which has fat minimal tread tyres felt like a good compromise. I was thinking I'd go back to that on my next commuter.

Really transforms a bike.

Schwalbe Big Apple 26x2".

Had them recommended to me by another poster here, thinking of getting them for the next rebuild I'm doing.

Yep, the bike-discount Hurricane deal seems best so far. Shipping costs are annoying, I can sometimes get a better deal having items sent to the An Post Address Pal address in the UK, but not so much with tyres, it seems. Ta for the reply.

I have a pair of these, including tubes. 26 X 1.75
They are in excellent condition(maybe 200 kms on them) and deep in my heart, I know, I will never use them again.
They are a lovely tyre, roll well on tarmac and give a little bit of grip on dry off road.
I'm in Drogheda.
