Tough one, in the sense none are particularly interesting.

    Norway for the colours

Yeah, agree. I'll go for Malta here for no other reason than to make it 1-1-1

Edit - damn, Bertie's post crossed...

Norway, the other 2 aren’t doing much for me.

“It matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be” - A. Dumbledore

“It is not blood that makes you Irish but a willingness to be part of the Irish nation” - Thomas Davis

Malta, for the cross and because I know somebody from there.

I'm can see Mozambique (with the AK47s) going far in this btw.

Bhutan, eSwatini and Kiribati semi-final contenders too.

(I like our flag - it'll be dumped out early in usual self-loathing, but no blue or red does make it slightly unusual in the pantheon of flags. In a group of just 9 in fact)

    Brilliant thread OP

Malta. Celtic cross clinches it. Alliteration and so forth.

It's the George Cross. The island was awarded it by the UK during WW2 for their bravery in holding off the Germans and Italians.

None are particularly interesting, so I'll vote for Norway because any Norwegians I've ever met have been sound.

All boring, but go with Norway because it's crossy

Malta hits the quota first so she sails on to the next stage. This is an interesting match next.

    Tuvalu. That's a nice flag.

The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.

    Paraguay

It seems unassuming at first, but it has a secret that makes it unique:
Paraguay's flag is the only national flag in the world to have different emblems on the obverse (front) and reverse (back). The front of the Paraguay flag has the country's state coat of arms on it, and the back has the country's Treasury Seal.

    Japan and Iraq.
Japanese flag is iconic and couldn’t be mistaken for any other.
