Lads I was using one of the round tyre applicators like the one linked below up until the other day but I binned it due to it absorbing too much product and find it a little more awkward on the small 35/40mm side walls of the e90.

I'm using Reflects tyre shine which is more liquid styled so am I best off using a detailing brush or is there something else I could use ?

Another suggestion for CarPro Quartz Dlux.
I bought it on a recommendation from here to restore black rubber car mats and it worked a treat. I used it on black external trim around the windows and it did a good job too. It's pricey but worth it.

    I’ll get this, thanks.

Where in Ireland might be selling it at the minute?

I bought a load of foam and microfiber applicators on Ebay for tyres, exhausts, etc . You get like 12 for €3. Quality isn't great, they are so cheap it doesn't really matter

From my recent experience of them you can expect to have items you ordered replaced with completely different products along with items missing as they are “on order” and will be in at the end of the week. Then two weeks later you’ll ring them to see where the product is only to ask for a refund (which to be fair they did very quickly)

Ya I ordered stuff a few weeks ago. Exactly a week after ordering they ring saying they didn't have a certain iron fallout remover, so I said throw some other one in. Bit slow to get the order together... But to be fair I had it the next day. Got a decent bottle of air freshener spray stuff thrown in, so all's not bad

I keep my applicator in a zip lock bag when not in use. Helps stop it from drying out between uses

Go in to Dealz or somewhere and buy a big "Car wash :o" sponge and cut it into smaller pieces.

    Brilliant, thanks, ordered there.

    For my next trick...
I’m thinking of having a go at the engine bay but don’t really know where to start.
I’d appreciate any advice that anyone might have.

Doesn't sound too promising. I'll just have to wait and see what arrives so. They were the only supplier that I could find in Ireland supplying fusso wax

They all supply it. In fact, Reflect had a big sale on it this weekend.

Hi all, just a quick question which I didn't want to start a new thread on. I'm starting out washing the car at home (191 Audi A5) and just placed an order for lots of the good stuff. I think I know the answer but just want to be sure to be sure.

Is using water that's caught in a rain harvesting butt safe to use on a car?, I'll be using the two bucket method with grit guard in both buckets, if not I'll use normal tap water.

Hey all, had asked here about a snow foam lance and decided to go ahead and get one - off amazon, ad said to ensure the connector was correct but stated that it fit all Karcher, connector appeared correct for my K2, when it arrived, it would fit, but couldn't lock into position. Emailed support and they stated that it's for the older K2, now I've gone back stating they need to provide measurements and an update on the ad about this in future.

Thing is - it's a metal/copper one and it weighs a good bit, think sending it back is going to cost an arm and a leg (pretty sure the postage I can print from their site will only cover the UK) so I'm tempted to:

    a) See if anybody here wants it, will sell for a decent price?
    b) Wondering if I could pare a bit off the connectors given it's the part that needs to lock in when you twist it that seems to be ever so slightly too large.

Final option is to gift it to the father as he has an older one....whenever I'm able to travel down to him again. Just wondering has anybody else had a similar experience with this i.e. the old vs. new K2 and does anybody here with a newer version K2 have a recommendation for a snow foam - if I go back to Amazon I want to make sure the fúcking thing fits correctly

You could keep what you have and swap over the connector. I picked blok51 as it’s a company I’m familiar with but I’m sure there are others more local to you that will have the same.

I'd use it for the jet washer no problems....

Should be fine..... Just don't upset the bottom of there is dirt or grit....

Thanks. I have to wait another month to be able to purchase a jet washer with snow foam attachment so was thinking of just attaching garden hose to get the car wet then fill two buckets (one soap, one clean) and go from there. Maybe until I get the jet washer I’ll just use regular tap water.

A stubborn bird poop seems to have damaged the lacquer on the bonnet of my car, I wiped it off with a damp microfiber as soon as I saw it but there is some marks left, is there any way to remove this or is a machine polish required? I tried using a bit of SRP by hand but it's not much use.

Hilariously I emailed blok51 to explain the connector issue before ordering and they promptly came back to me and said that a common issue with the snow foam attachments is initial connection - blast it with WD40 and it should go in

Embarrassed that this turned out to be the fix but even with a good dose of WD40 I had to push it in off the floor with a good bit of pressure on it - once in, moved it around and it's fine now.

Again....embarrassing but glad I can use it, don't have the hassle of a refund and in case anybody else encounters similar - no harm to document it here!

Thanks again Northern Monkey, blok51 sorted me out!

Autoglym have a new product for this but I’d say you would need to get it from a rep rather than via Halfords or the like.

Can anyone recommend a product that DnD stock for removing black "shotgun mould" from a car's paintwork? Y'know that black mould that consists of lots of small dots? I got a bit off cleaning with microfibre the last day, but it involved more friction than I'm happy with?

Looking at the Mega Foam from Reflect. Anyone used it?

A good spraying with apc solution and power rinse off?

Got myself a short trigger/quick connect kit over the last few days (a number of different shipments from Amazon and Blok51) so I'm looking forward to using it for a wheel arch detail tomorrow.

The full set is a trigger gun, foam lance, nozzle kit and adapter for the Karcher. Not sure if it will replace the Karcher Full Control lance fully but we'll see. Best thing with the K7 is that even with the new trigger connected, the pressure is still controlled from the Karcher lance even when it's not connected as it works wirelessly.

Do you have a link to it ? Looking to pick one up as well.

I started using a short trigger gun amd nozzles a few months ago. Makes life a bit easier changing between snow foam lances, nozzles amd especially wheel arches but don't think it's a massive improvement over the standard lances
