    Hi

I noticed a crack in the panelling of my front door , attached are the pictures.

Is this repairable or what can I do ? And cost wise please ?

A neighbour was getting some new doors and windows a while back from one of the leading providers and I got chatting to the fitter who took a look at it for me and reckoned between 500- 600 euro to replace the panel or else a new door ?

Any thoughts or inputs appreciated ?

I havnt a clue about things like this, thanks a lot.

I have similar cracks in the centre panel mouldings of my uPVC front door.
My plan is to fill with a car grade filler, Isopon or similar and then repaint the door.

Its a "summer" job for me, will likely spray the door a new colour whilst I'm at it.

I had looked into a replacement centre panel but any Irish suppliers I found were all €250+

I replaced the same type of damaged door panel earlier this year. The price you were quoted is similar to what I paid. Rainwater will get into the crack and lodge in the door panel. I was told it wasn’t fixable, hence just replaced the panel. My door was approx 15 yrs old, but the new panel colour is still a good match up to the frame and unnoticeable. .

Thanks folks for the replies, I may get the panel replaced so when the current working restrictions are lifted.

The door is 10 years old ,so I guess these things happen over time.

Ball park what would be the cost of a complete new door ?

I am in the Drogheda area for any recommendations on the door repair ?

    Thanks again folk.

Can’t help you with recommendations, as I’m in the west. I had been quoted < €2k for a full door. My door had a full panel and glass and I was very happy with the new panel. I’ve attached pic of same.

Thanks, that a very tidy job you got done on yours.

I will go down the replacement panel route so, 500-600 euro appears to be the ball park price.
