Got the online learning invite as well. I made my account a few days ago then went to get started yesterday and the site was having issues. 100% now though, perhaps the Virgin outages were affecting the site?

Eventually got sorted. Seen that the site was having issues. Working 100% now too. Thanks ðŸ‘ðŸ»

Did anyone get an invitation to online learning without completing the PCA?

Heard of one person experiencing this.

Is it likely they will exhaust the merit list for this campaign?

I hope so haha. From what I've read they need the numbers. They've practically exhausted the 2017 merit list. Lets hope that covid19 doesn't cause even further disruption to recruitment either directly or indirectly lol.

I'm sure they will exhaust the merit list. they have just started the 2020 campaign while will take quite a while to process all those candidates through, so I assume in the meantime they will exhaust the 2018. I think the whole 2017 lot were eventually processed so no man left behind as they say lol.

Hey chaps... Been a while. A question...

I'm ML 300-400 but had to appeal vetting. Old penalty points and a temporary suspension from 8-10 years ago which "showed a disregard for the law". Been waiting 3 months.

Anyone else been through appeals? Dunging it!!

I haven’t been through a vetting appeal myself but have you contacted them looking for an update? I’m guessing by your ML your vetting must be away about 9 months in total?

Just received my email today that I have passed my vetting, forms sent away last week of December which isn’t to bad. Only the medical left to do, hopefully they have them up running soon.

ML890-910. Just wish my medical wasn’t cancelled in March, could have had everything done.

How did you find your PCA? Mine was cancelled in March. Dreading it. Not sure if it’s all in my head

I was worried about my PCA too. It's not as hard as its made out to be. Don't worry about it you'll be grand. If you have a decent level of fitness you'll have no problems.

Yea that’s what I’m told. Fear is that I know the right route to take through the course. Is it marked where to go next or do have to learn it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28 first_timer10

During the course the instructor is also telling you what to do next. It is tough going but like Gonzo said, as long as you have a decent level of fitness and just push yourself to the max that day you should be fine.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 90 ✭✭Gonzo94

It's all marked out for you and you'll have the instructor going round with you telling you where to go and what to do. You'll get it all explained to you on the day and you'll get a few mins to practice elements. Have you done the familiarisation day yet? Or was that cancelled on you as well?

Thanks guys. This has helped massively. Familiarisation was cancelled also. Will definitely be attending it when I get a date again.

You can download the course map from here
    https://www.joinpsni.co.uk/uploads/1506032226-pca-diagram.pdf

Each lap is 100m in total, complete 3 times. Lucky for me, I work in a warehouse that has 30m long aisles. I used the plan above and set the course up when everyone went home each night. 25m up filled with obstacles, back 25m with more obstacles, 25m sprint up, 25m sprint back. Repeat another two times.
