https://event.mi.com/uk/sales2020/easter-sale Did anyone but the redmi 8? Also how does the mi points work, is it money off a future purchase?

    Yeah I bought 2 Redmi 8's.
Switched it on over the weekend and logged in with accounts.
Charged it fully* and now this morning I went to put in the sim card and the screen is unresponsive.
Tried a hard reset but nada.
Have sent an email to customer support so will see what happens.

*I used the genuine charging cable.

Was on with the online chat/service for a good while this am. Went through everything but the screen remained unresponsive.
They are gonna send me out a jiffy bag in order to send it to a service centre to be looked at!

Did you get yours via parcel motel? Will they send the bag to your Ireland address.Apparently the phone comes from France. Is there any way they will post directly to Ireland.

I got mine delivered to PM but the girl on the chat asked me for my home address and phone number.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,686 ✭✭✭horse7

So do you use PM north address and what can you use for phone number?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,259 ✭✭✭koutoubia

I used my brothers phone number...he has a UK number.
I used it then told him I was using it :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,686 ✭✭✭horse7

I get to payment, complete the visa details, get code from bank to verify transaction, but still no go, I'm thinking of ringing them?

  • Registered Users Posts: 368 ✭✭PreCocious

I've had a Mi account for a long time but I could never order from the UK site - not with Revolut, N26 or my Visa Credit. Tried about a month ago when there was an offer and no go - it would debit the card and then follow with an immediate refund.

Last week I was able to buy two phones (and they were delivered) without changing anything on my account - visa card + parcel motel. Must be some internal glitches going on..

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,686 ✭✭✭horse7

I don't know if ringing them will help?

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,686 ✭✭✭horse7

just been on to them in uk, they say the visa details address have to match the delivery address

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,259 ✭✭✭koutoubia

    Ah bummer!
