Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sorry, just seen that JoannieG had answered.

    Crohy Head, Maghery.

A little info on the area from here
"Walk along the coast of Maghery (sandy plain) with history and heritage …. Passing the 18th century red house Kelp factory, view the signal tower built around 1804-06 during the Napoleonic War and the soap stone underground quarry used to make talcum powder, this mining for soapstone had started in 1860’s, this mining shaft was built 7 metres below sea level and the main tunnel went for several hundred metres out under the sea which followed a seam of top quality white soapstone.

Is that the road to Churchill from the main road that runs by Glenveagh? Sorry, don't know the townlands or road numbers! You hang a left at the top of that lake (L Gartan? or the smaller one before it) to get to Churchill, right brings you to the back gate of Glenveagh.

Close enough! Photo taken beside Gartan Graveyard looking south towards Gartan Lake and Glendowan. The small lake is Lough Nacally.

Looks like Cnoc Fola on the far right, so I am guessing somewhere between Falcarragh and Dunfanaghy on the Muckish side?

Edit Found it, just past Lough Agher?

    Bingo!

It's looking east on the old Letterkenny/Burtonport railway line, Muckish out of picture to the left, Errigal is somewhere in that cloud to the left of centre I think, and yes that is Cnoc Fola. Lough Agher directly behind me. Well done!
