So far so good anyway. I ordered a few bits yesterday and they contacted me about an hour after the order to say one of the items was out of stock and offered a refund or the chance to add something else to the order. I added something that was €10 More than the item being replaced. They wouldn’t take any additional money from me for it due to the inconvenience!

Did your stuff arrive? I ordered a while back but haven't received it yet..

Bilt Hamber auto foam is not a thick foaming product,
It is very watery to look at on the car. This is the nature of it, but it is one of the best if not the best snow foam available.
You can try adding a bit more to your mix and see for yourself,
Did you have your lance adjusted properly?

    Cheers

I will say the difference it made is mental.
Honestly I couldn’t tell you if I had it set right. I had a nice spray on it not coming out too fast is that’s any use. I used about 350ml and then rest was warm water

Was running low on some Gyeon products but didn't want to use Autopia so tried The Detailing Company in the north. £4.63 for delivery that arrived the next day. Pretty good service

Yeah, it arrived yesterday. I ordered on Friday afternoon and got the processed mail on Monday (got a free magic tree!) I originally contacted them on Facebook to check if they were open prior to ordering and they replied pretty much straight away so that might be a good option for getting in touch.

I ordered some Chemical Guys Green Hex Logic pads from Slims on Monday. They were delivered today but I think they've sent me some generic brand instead of Chemical Guys unless they've really changed their packaging? Can anyone here confirm?

I've a good few of those hex logic pads in that packaging, some have the CG logo on the pads and some don't

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,593 ✭✭✭Northern Monkey

I’ve had them in that packaging too

    Cheers, lads.

Just had some of my own hex logic pads delivered and although mine are the quantum pads they are in a similar packaging.

That's the way they come. I agree though, it's off-putting when you don't see any mention of Chemical Guys on the packaging.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,504 ✭✭✭PsychoPete

I assumed Chemical Guys aren't making the pads just putting their name on them

So normally I take my car to be washed. But lately been doing it myself. Bought a karcher k2 and a snow foam lance. Used bilt hamber auto foam. I did a quick wash on it just to try it out. Did the job but felt it wasn’t thick enough. What’s the mix I’m meant to be using with it.

Bilt hamber suggest 4% pir (panel impact ratio i think). You will have to spray the lance into an empty bucket to see how much water comes out and do some maths. 4% sounds like you would only use a dribble in the lance but when i did mine ages ago i needed nearly 50% in the lance meaning 500ml product and 500 ml of water. I use 400 ml in the lance and it works great. Just as well its a 5 litre

400ml of product???? Please tell me that's not per wash and you have a huge foam lance.

I use 4 squirts of autofoam (from the 5 litre) per wash and I can coat my car twice with it.

Well i would usually snowfoam twice so that would do 2 cars twice and thats under the recommended dosage. The foam lance is a 1 litre one. How many ml do you reckon you use.

I use about an inch of snow foam in the lance. Does the job. People are obsessed with thick snow foam, it's not like it makes the product any better

Im not, i couldn't care less if its thick or not as long as it works. its still not very thick even at that ratio, runs off the car. Its probably overkill alright

Same as Pete, about an inch which I guess would be around 40ml.

My autobrite lance should be here tomorrow, can't wait to use it.

There's a video on YouTube of some guy using it and a K2 Karcher adding only 100ml of Magifoam into the bottle and 3-400ml of hot water and he manages to get his car completely covered with some left over.

Just on the subject of snow foam lads, if I put an inch of product in do i then fill the bottle up with warm water?

Time is contagious, everyone is getting old.

Try the pir method but add a little less than suggested , i guarantee you will enjoy yourself. Your curious now, give it a lash

Are you using the Karcher included foam lance?
    It’s supposed to be crap.

Get a dedicated snow foam lance.

No bought one that works with the karcher

Mix ratio and lance settings then.

I did a good bit of reading into PIR and calculating volumes, flow rate etc. from lance but it just seemed like too much hassle - and I say that as an engineer who likes a good calculation :D
So now I just pour in a small bit, top up with warm water and start spraying.

I’m going to do my first ever ONR wash this evening. Nervous and excited in equal measure! (Will be testing it on the other half’s golf before doing mine )
