I would blame the state rather than travellers as a group. Turning a blind eye to crime can only have one possible result.

It’s not just travellers. At the other end of society a blind eye is turned to crimes carried out by the richest in society.

Yes but one ethnic minority is worse as they attack, rob, murder, drug deal terrorise the elderly and so on....

I imagine it's particularly difficult for some travellers also. I can never forget the time I visited my sister in the maternity. She shared a two bed ward with a traveller lady, both of them had very difficult births and were staying in for longer than normal. The lady who was a traveller became friendly with my sister and admitted that hospital were keeping her in for as long as possible because and get this, her husband had tried to have sex with her in hospital three days after the birth. She was petrified and hospital social worker extended the stay, knowing she would go back to him. More children is a status of a man's virility it seemed in this case. Where are our feminist groups in shouting outrage that domestic violence and abuse is considerably elevated in this community. I still think of that poor woman and what her life is like now.

My missus tells a similar story of a traveller lady in the bed opposite when she was having her second child. The husband arrived in, pulled the curtain and got down to work. The poor woman had to be re-stitched.

Again, the law just doesn't seem to apply to them.

Allowing mass gatherings for a funeral for one of their own who died from the virus!

I think it's a great idea. Sure let them bring 700 or 7000 even!

    So summing up ,

these criminals committed an act of racist verbal abuse and possibly criminal damage against some Chinese people.

they have been identified and will be prosecuted as per the Irish justice system.

the Gardaí didn't come repelling in from a chopper and immediately arrest ever one, the justice system didn't sentence them to death and a few immature posters are making a loud noise because they don't understand how the justice system works.

you have a problem with it then don't vote for the same wasters again and again as we circle the drain.

also if you want criminals punished then don't piss and moan when you get caught breaking the law yourself

Does anyone know what this was over?

And did they succeed in breaking the door down?

Sterilise them so future tax payers don't have to carry this burden, Ireland would prosper.

Examiner reporting the guards have identified the suspects

Let’s just hope they fûcking get going and arrest them and the appropriate sentences are applied. Decent people should be respected and protected from this shower.

You hardly expect Garda to stand up to travellers? They've proved time and time again that they won’t

Guards are fcuked up with arresting them, only for the legal system to give them a slap on the wrist.

How many of these cvnts are going around with 100+ convictions?

When all the levels of decent humanity hunker down for the greater good these spoilt ,entitled, granny beating inbreeds carry on as normal oblivious to the world we occupy.
Fair play to the cops ,it must be frustrating having to parade them in front of the courts again and a benevolent lets them off scot free.

I think they blamed it on the country folk.

    I wouldn't go that far.

One thing is for sure though.

Nobody would miss them. Absolute scourge on society who unfortunately breed like Rats.

Group of scumbags attack Chinese takeaway in Galway shouting verbal racist abuse and kicking the windows in.

No one on the streets, and suddenly Gardaí are on patrol throughout the country, except where they are actually required to do their job.

    Everything was filmed.

    Not one arrest.

    Joke.

This story was barely reported, videos on Reddit

    https://www.reddit.com/r/galway/comments/g2omgm/meanwhile_in_galwayanother_vid2/

    https://www.google.ie/amp/s/extra.ie/2020/04/17/news/irish-news/attack-restaurant-in-galway/amp

Video doesn't show what happened after.

Anyway, an arrest doesn't mean they won't be prosecuted (a summons for example). An arrest would have satisfied you, yet it's literally taking them to a station, printing paper, and letting them out an hour later...

We don't know they weren't arrested. Even if not, doesn't mean squat.

They'll be prosecuted. Let us know in a years time what the outcome was, how many times they were given bail on each date, and how much legal aid the solicitor got.

    Your outrage is misdirected.

One of the ladies involved was clearly roaring 'ye brought the virus'.

Make of that what you will

Maybe take a look at the percentage of travellers in prison compared to their percentage of the population, will dispell that muth fairly fast!

If there was ever a time to get stuck into the ****ers, it's now. The statue book could get ****ed out the window depending on how this virus develops. And if we do end up in an extended period of lockdown, I'd love to see the cops and army given sweeping powers to smash **** out of ****e like that lot in the video.

I would love to see a proper judicial system in Ireland.Put these re offending leeches into jail ,say when they have reached 50 convictions ,so at 19 years old the go down for 20 years .
Their prime breeding age would be spent incarcerated so they cannot procreate with cousins or sisters and with the short life expectancy we could be rid of the scourge within a generation.

The people in the video could easily do a bunk and pop up in the Traveller Diaspora somewhere like Luton or Hounslow next week (all those s**t places around the London periphery have loads, and I mean loads of them), very easy places to disappear into and also have a dogs breakfast demographic make up where they don't stick out like sore thumbs as they would in a small Irish town. I'd guess the English Irish Traveller population is far bigger than ours.

A lot of the Scandinavians ripped off by them in scams about 10 years ago probably couldn't differentiate them from regular Irish people, the only thing that really intrigues me about them is what their origins were, were they dispossessed during the Cromwellian period? That would sort of make sense, I know other European nationalities have Gypsy contingents but they're usually of Romanichal/Indian origin, what would turn a sub-section of Irish people into consanguineous sociopaths?

I detest Travellers but if the Garda did wade into them a lot of people on here who are giving out would then shout about police brutality or how they overreacted and should be sacked. They can’t win.

    Travellers seem to reject modernity.

They seem to lead chaotic lives.

Hope there's a real backlash against this group of inbreeds after their recent antics.

I remember a teacher once told us they were once the royalty of Ireland and the common people had enough of them and their lifestyle of decadence etc going back nearly a thousand years before the Anglo Saxon came, they were rounded up and sacked from their throne's and put out in the road's...

I often seen old cartoons of the Irish coming off the famine ship's and they're quite intriguing looking lads.

Some travelers are dead sound and I have a few traveller friends but they're more of the old tinker travellers, the creative and poetic types who carry on the traditions of art, poetry and story telling.

These modern day trouble makers give the real travelers a bad name.
There's a difference between the two classes.

The old Wexford Kilkenny and the Kerry travelling people were a different class, I don't know what happened along the way....

Some of the traveling women are absolutely gorgeous looking and I'm not talking about the Beyonce type's trapsing around the shopping malls in the Christians holidays.
It's the tinker types, freckled faces, brown or red hair and deep poetic eye's...
I had a holiday romance with one when I was 17 she was from Wexford and on holidays in Lahinch with her parents, a different class...
