Boiler coming on by itself and water pressure dropping

    Hi there,

    In the last few days our boiler has been coming on and firing itself up without the underfloor heating or water heating timers telling it to.

    I noticed last week that the water pressure was low almost 0 and topped it up to 1.5bar. For the last 2 days the boiler has been firing up on its own and has been making a load gurgling sound at times. There was also a constant srip coming out of the overflow pipe onto our decking which has now stopped.

    Should i be worried?

    Something is not right with it kicking itself on every hour or so.

    under floor heating and water comes on a 5am - 6am and again at 4.30pm - 6pm.

    Can anyone help? No plumbers available at the moment!

    Where are you based? Plumbers around here are doing repair work.

    You probably have 2 different problems. A motorised valve and expansion vessel.

    Dublin 6, the guy who does our boiler is booked up for weeks. Does all the apartment complex

    Most lads would have left space on the bookings for breakdowns. Perhaps he can pass you on to somebody else. If he's your regular guy, I'd expect more from him.

    It's unlikely to be a DIY fix.
