    Don't love her at all.

Seem like a very decent thing to do. Giving back over 32k euro over the course of 4 years to the public coffers. Seems decent.

Beats clocking into the dail when you're not there to extract money you didn't work for.

So off the bat that's a hell of a lot of better than many other TD's

    Fair play to her.

You mean because her party told her to do so? Fair play indeed, that's a good 6 months work done. You can be sure she's not doing this out of the good of her heart.

I'm sure reinvesting it in a housing charity, similar to the one she bankrupt, would be a more worthwhile investment than handing it back to the exchequer.

I think it was FG pulling funding that caused problems rather than a single tenant.

Considering who's in charge of the exchequer at the moment.

    You're probably right :)

or she could have bought PPE so we wouldn't need Dublin pubs to be buying it or beggging bono for money :)

I didn't mention Dublin pubs buying it previously.

    Embarrassing isn't it.

I'm not sure there's much point in arguing with a poster who uses deflection and whataboutery as their go to lines.

It's clear that this woman should not have been elected as a TD. It's clear she was elected as a protest vote. I'm not saying that about all elected from SF, but it is the case here as far as I'm concerned.

    Nothing whataboutery about it.

She's giving 32k euro of her wages back to the public coffers.

    Fair play to her.

While other TD's are looking for big hands outs for working from home on massive wages while hundreds of thousands go on to the dole.

Here we have one handing back her 8k raise.

    Fair play to her.

I think all SF are doing so. Socialist parties give it to the party. Others just take it. Most of it will go back in income taxes anyway.

People actually believed that too when Dessie Ellis and Sandra McClellan signed up for it.

You can easily find out if any SF TD didn't do it.

    Have at it

I think all SF are doing so..

    Fair play to them all.

Better than falsely claiming for days they were not in the dail.

    Great to see.

I see claims about this lady ‘handing back’ a pay rise being bandied about here.

Is there any proof of this or any mention on line?

Note: Violet-Anne saying it wouldn’t be considered ‘proof’ as she would be considered a ‘spoofer’, given her history.

But what about the Dublin pubs, and Bono?

    I know. It's a disgrace.

But the point was about her handing back the 32k euro to the public coffers.

Realistically, she isn’t returning much, due to income tax. It’s a good PR stunt alright.

    It's 32k euro over 4 years.

That's a fair chunk of bobs.

Better than fleecing us for expenses for days not in the dail like some other TD's

    Great to see.

What was the 8k rise for?

Nope, she really is giving back 32k euro. :)

IF she stays a TD for 4 years! By the way, do you have a link to that claim?

She posted the deceleration to FB

Not picked up by mainstream media. Who'd have thought eh :)

Even if she didn't 8k in itself is a fair whack

Compared to other TD's who fleece us faking they were in work.

I say she is praying that FF and FG form a government. Otherwise it’ll be back to the ballot box and bye bye to the TDs wage and pension as she wouldn’t get in if there was a do over.

    Did she? Really?
I'd rather she took her wage and paid her debts.

(As opposed to tokenism and refusing to pay whats legitimately owed. To a charity.)

I don’t understand what ‘deceleration’ means in this context. Can you clarify please?

    Depends.

If the they put up the same lads who were voting while not in work and fleecing us for falsely claimed expenses.

    Not great options really.

What’s your honest opinion on how An Taoiseach and his ministers are handling the current situation?

It’ll go some way to paying for her former party colleagues pensions.

“ Sinn Féin has defended its approach to pensions as it emerged that four of its TDs will retire from the Dáil with pension pots varying from €495,000 to €1.72 million.” https://www.irishtimes.com/news/politics/sinn-f%C3%A9in-pledges-to-cut-salaries-of-tds-and-ministers-if-elected-1.4148214

    Which part?

Not wanting to call off the parade?

Spending 40m on un-usuable PPE gear?

    Begging bono for money?

Dublin pubs having to source PPE?

Giving 100 people the wrong test results?

Can you be bit more specific on "handling"

I know it is standard SF just to put down someone elses work while doing nothing yourself

But tell me some of the good SF have done since the crisis started? I dont count slagging people off on facebook as good work

Also I dont count talking to the press as good work!!! that should be a given but with SF they seem to think it is brillant just to shoot off mouth to press

    I must have missed something.

    SF are not in government.

The question was regarding the current government.

    :P:P:P:P:P:P:P

Well according to most on here SF "won" the election. So they should have some power

Wasn't Mary Lou invited to daily briefing with the stand in government?

Tell you what, instead of throwing mud, come back when SF actually do something good....I might pay some attention to your ranting and raving then...

Oh yeah, paying money someone robbed from a Charity is not good either, thats just what any decent person would do, sorry any decent person wouldnt rob it in the first place
