Great to hear Andy Lee today but I'm not sure if they did that commentary on the fight thing properly. I thought he'd talk us through the action, but it was only for the first round? Felt like a bit of a missed opportunity.

Ken turning into Bill Shankly for a minute had me laughing hysterically.

Yup, one of the great Ken moments. He fully committed to initially, got a bit self conscious halfway through, but came roaring back with maximum Scottishness by the end.

Top stuff from Ken alright, hadn't known that about Shankly but assume it happened at a lot of clubs back in the day

Finally resubbing to this today after a few months off. Seems I missed a load of great stuff lately! From the bits of the DOD podcast I’ve heard I’m not really into it though.

Weird that it took this crisis to make them adventurous and actually make the output better!

I tried the isolation podcast but just can't get into it at all. I'd much rather 40 minutes of Ken going through the news or something every day or two maybe.

I don't mind the DOD podcast. I don't listen to them routinely but when I'm all out I'll stick the latest one on.

I think your idea of Ken doing an 15/20 minute one every second day would be good. Similar to his thoughts on the Donk On It pieces, it's not like he's doing anything else.

    Jesus

    Episode 17 of the Dodcast.

17! This whole thing is mental

The David O'Doherty podcast is fantastic imo, just the right length and a bit of fun, but I can see why some people don't like him/it.

The story about drawing a langer on the TV had juvenile me in stitches and some of his analogies are great. Tbh I hope he stays on the island for good so the pods keep coming.

Yeah the quality has definitely improved- they have had to think a bit outside the box - the paul o'Connell show was very good..

I guess its difficult not to get caught up with the current news stories and in fairness i imagine its easier to just regurgitate what is in the media

I think its only natural. A lot of the time they would have spent watching live sport, tracking the latest news, going to press conferences, media days etc and finding contributors for those topics has now been freed up.

How do they compare to a deli ?

Far better because they're the exact same but just cooked fresh. The mushroom ones aren't great.

Really enjoyed ken's telling of the booze hounds of Ireland's 2002 squad. Ken asking dunne about his managers! Wish we got more of that.

Also how did Ken forget eoins birthday (re titanic sinking)

Ken's recollections from that post World Cup night on the booze sounds like a rich seam that they should fully exploit. I'm sure they be handily hazy as required.

Ken's interactions with the world are always hilarious the way he describes them. Like the tournaments he goes to the best parts are him traveling or his encounters with people

That young McDevitt/Jimmy Rabbitte comparison is eerily on the nose.

See the PBESO is making a comeback today *sigh*

The lads occasionally play a clip at the end of the podcast with someone, possibly Michael Parkinson, saying ‘that’s why sports in important’.

Does anyone know what he’s saying at the start that clip? I’ve never been able to figure out and it’s been slightly bugging me every time I hear it!

Its not war or death or famine, its to remind us there’s a world outside of that...thats what i hear

I seen that acronym in the description for todays one. What is it?

Smug lads from abroad send in e-mails and then Murphy reads them out, smugly. Even the background music has a foppish smugness to it.

    Supposedly "Hillarious."

    Actually "Painful."

But, who knows, we are living in unprecedented times, maybe it'll actually be interesting for once.

I unsubscribed 2 weeks ago and feel a little dirty. In fairness, I've taken a paycut but still. I'm reconsidering :-)

Pierce Brosnan Emigrant Shout Out = PBESO

It was a Murph idea, so is naturally awkward and unfunny. That, combined with some GAA player describing his favourite shoulder barging contest was enough for me to not even bother listening today after reading the show description.

Definitely be keeping it in the queue to listen to for McStay when I get the chance. He’s normally one of the most bull**** free zones as far as sports people go, though that may be more applicable to a more game type scenario.

Hope DoD is being well rewarded for the pods, now more than ever need good content, also love the audio that the lads add to Isolation :D

Think the number of subs is still rising, over 12000 now. Last time I looked it was in the low 11s

Love the audio jingle for Jigsaw news :)

Loved the slagging and audio of Ken having no question for Stephen Kenny...

I have to say, I’m enjoying the slower pace to the podcasts these days. I wouldn’t be a huge fan of rugby and tend to skip through some of their normal rugby content but I thought the Paul O’Connell interview was really interesting.
