Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey everyone,

I was wondering where I can get boston butt or pork upper shoulder in Ireland.
I was visiting Aldi, Lidl, Tesco, Supervalu and a few local and nearby butcher shops without any luck.

    Any idea?

A good butcher should be able to prepare these for you if you give them some notice.

If you are in Dublin, FX Buckleys on Moore Street sell these cuts.

Personally I think pork shoulder gives better pulled pork than a butt if that’s what you’re after (it doesn't come from the butt btw!).

If its what you want though, I’ve gotten them from FXB and James Whelan.

As I understand it, shoulder and butt are the same cut.

Sorry, to be clear, when I say shoulder I’m thinking of the picnic, not the butt.
