Can I play a request for my friend?

My friend, Candice, is in America and I was wondering if I could have a radio DJ play her a song ....so she could listen on her laptop or phone. She's in hospital...doing ok.

Any little station will do. It's just that I go onto the big stations and there's no way of just asking if they'll play a song for someone.

Have we time warped back into the 1980s or what?
Tell her go on Spotify or YouTube.
Would that bit be a bit simpler?

I assume it's the (implied) personalised dedication of the song that's important, not the merely listening bit.

NO...we haven't gone back in time. I would like her to listen to the radio and have a DJ play her a song...ANY SONG and just give out a message like "Get well soon. This song is for you from your friend."

    Does Spotify do that?

What part of the States is she in?

Easy enough to find the local station.... if she has Heart Radio or Sirius available why not try Z100 in New York??

I would screenshot your question and the first reply and send it to her local station online/email whatever....and I guarantee you will get the personal touch you desire and your friend will love it.

I went on Z100 website but it's all just podcasts and stuff. I just want to listen live to what's being broadcast right now and have her do the same. None of these station websites seem to allow you to do that. Or they certainly don't make it very obvious or easy.

Why don't you just tell her you hope she gets well soon?

cn you just get on to one of the local irish stations and make the request and then ask her to listen in to it on their website. I know Tipp FM do requests and Beat 102 103.
