Sorry I don't know what medium you are referring to, have you a link?

But I am not surprised at this either. Thanks.

It's his daily press conference on CNN

Most other foodstuffs are packaged or wrapped and would have been last exposed to potential infection more than 75 hours ago. Hence leaving the shopping to sit for three days before unpacking or using, is good practice,

Isn't the risk of this kind of transmission very small?

Honestly, who has time to wipe down groceries. Wouldn't we be better off if the government could train people not to cough and sneeze without a tissue through some new sort of legislation or whatever. Slap people lacking such manners with fines.

Not sure if this as been posted. An incredible representation by NHK (Japanese Broadcaster) on how droplets spread.

That would go down as the least surprising news I’ve heard during this whole crisis.

I know it’s probably not feasible but I think we really should be testing a random selection of people around the country to get an idea of what kind of asymptomatic numbers we have in the country. I know we’re stretched with testing but it would make such a difference.

Plenty of time if you are one of the 1000s not working and also if you have an inderlying condition you ll do everything as much as possible to reduce the risk.

Pretty sure someone has posted this exact same thing every day Trump has had a press conference on this.

Sorry to quibble but the vast majority of the 2 trillion is not for laid off workers, nor are many going to see that for months

It's an odd health system in the US, the government seems to control the supply of ventilators but they are being given to private hospitals.

I wouldnt be surprised to see the US at 2000 deaths per day by the middle of next week. This is getting away from them and theres large swathes paying next to no heed to any measures.

For that we really need an antibody test

The current test only confirms you have the virus at the time of testing

Antibody test shows if you had it

Since mid Feb I know probably 25 plus people who had worse than normal persistent chest issues of some kind all of whom would like to get a test like that

If we are to have any hope of ever returning to normality,

we need to test everyone....otherwise,we're just shooting into the dark and hoping for the best without a vaccine

The antibody test would be brilliant too but I meant for us to do the normal test so we could identify potential asymptomatic spreaders like they have done in Iceland. Maybe in a few weeks or months we can implement this.

250k people infected with a disease and the press conference decends in to a discussion on the price of oil, they really deserve who they vote for.

that doctor came across very well.

looks like a lockdown until anti body testing is out & then re introduce immune people to society.

I hope, for the sake of those on the platform, that you can’t get the virus from licking thr president’s ass.

What will our peak look like? It seems we are not to far away from it now. My worry is thing don't get much worse and things dont improve that much so it keeps is in limbo for a long time. So the restriction are doing a good job and the hospitals aren't overwhelmed but there still is 200-300 new cases being diagnosed and 15-30 deaths per day for a long period. Its hard to lift restrictions becuse the risks are high but its also hard to continue as we are because the risks to the economy are too great.

If u are tired of the news and it is affecting u then step away from it for a few days instead of coming on here asking a heap of questions,it will do your mind the world of good

Yes and watch comedy's and listen to your fav music. No point worrying about the world, you can't fix it. This will end eventually and we will be mentally stronger IMO.

I really don't know what to say anymore about this President. But I think he is an idiot and is talking through his hat.

What baffles me is the fact that no one really calls him out on his idiocy. Cannot figure that out, unless the President is beyond any denigration.

The State Governors have more power than he does now. Will the Rep Governors look after their State or go against him I wonder.

It would be great to get reliable antibody tests to see if people had it and had either really mild symptoms or none at all. Maybe down the line and it could be done at home.

Antibody tests are available, 15 min for result, BUT practical reliability rate as yet unknown.

If error rate proves to be consistent it could be used to do the statistically valid random population sample testing we should have been doing from the outset.

For all I know we have being doing just that with the swabs, it's a more comforting explanation of our all-over-the-place testing that it just being yet another HSE cluster****.
