    Budget is 500.
    Looking for a laptop.
Must have 256ssd and 8gb ram at a minimum.
Don’t need any physical media drive so would prefer a sleek look.
No idea where we are with processors right now.

Would I get some sort of ultra book for that and where.

    Thanks.

    I'm currently looking at this Lenovo from HN for €499;

    https://www.harveynorman.ie/computing/laptops/lenovo-v145-15.6-amd-a9-8gb-256gb-ssd-en.html

It ticks the boxes above, and the ones I had in mind (*GB or higher, SSD, 14"or bigger, Win10, not S)

Maybe not the sleekest; and has a disc drive, which is prob a bit unnecessary at the moment.

Any major gotcha's I'm not seeing?
I'm sure the likes of HN are throwing a load of WFH fodder up at each price band, hard to see through it all to the good machines

No full HD screen, small storage and not a very good processor. I mean it depends on what your are using it for but I'd pass on it

    Cheers,
    So maybe not OP...

    I might keep looking too.
I've gone from needing a laptop urgently last week, to kinda wanting a new one so I'm all over the place.
I've got the crap one I have working fine for WFH with external monitor and peripherals.

So, now would like to leave that in place as desktop/WFH machine and get something else for general usage, but my budget is still limited. Glasso has nearly convinced me on the Matebook on other thread, but budget starts creeping up once it has to get delivered etc £549 plus delivery

Edit: just relaised is duplicate thread; explains why I was so confused between them
