It would be more than 15000 without measures being taken, we couldn't prove it though as we wouldn't have the test kits .

    It probably is anyway.

Putting the 15,000 figure out with the intention of frightening people into behaving and then clapping ourselves on the back mightn't have been the best strategy either.

You only had to look at all the congratulations on here when we generally had rises of 12-18% daily last week. Can ultimately lead to complacency.

Thankfully we don't all see things your way.

The chap playing goalie football is no better than kids up and down the country. He mightn't even be playing at 18.

Such a shallow country today. It takes very little to be an 'internet sensation'.

    RIP to the eight people

295 is not bad at all, we're doing quite well

Calm down. The 15,000 projection wasn't even remotely accurate before social distancing could take effect. It was inaccurate from the start.

Youre acting like we ended up with no cases, we will likely have well over 3000 by the last day of march, likely a few thousand other cases unaccounted for. That is with all schools and colleges closed, people washing hands, no travel, no tourists, no public gatherings , and most people working from home, and you think its far fetched it would have been five times higher without those measures

Think you just want to criticise the government for no reason tbh

Do they sometimes mix up median and mean?

That median age of 86 is higher than the last two days.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,102 ✭✭✭Lavinia

so median age of people who died is 86?

if overall was 80 that means still overall is above 80

I’ve never heard them use the mean.
