Yeah me too. Vegas here. I hope it wont get to the point of the national guard and enforced curfews. I haven't needed to go out since they announced the closures of non essential businesses so I dont know how it's going really except they are now having to use the police to enforce it on some cases. Some people still dont get it.

The weirdest thing is the strip being closed. I feel like taking a drive down there just to see it empty and closed.

I was only there in January for the first time for five days but my God what a place. It's crazy.

I can't really see a full locktime happening until things get to Italy numbers. Be worse now with people losing their jobs but the Americans are ruthless with regards letting people go. There is no redundancy and they can let people go with a snap of a finger with no repurcissions. The complete opposite to Ireland.

Poverty hear is mental but not sure what Trump has in plans for that.

If they decide to stop paying me here I'll probably head back to the company in Ireland to be honest.

I’m not sure why people are so hard on Trumpy when it’s obvious State leaders are responsible for measures. Usual Trumpy haters gonna hate I guess

    Really? Not sure no?

Each state is like a separate country. It's like the EU telling us what to do.

But yes he has the power to shut them all down just like the E.U.

At least 14 residents of a private nursing home in Leinster have tested positive for Covid-19.

The virus is believed to have been transmitted to residents via a health worker in the first case of mass contagion to occur in a nursing home setting.

My brother has had plexiglass in his retail store since last weekend.
It just becomes another surface for cleaning every 30 min.

I'm not sure that the EU has any such authority actually. They could only ask member states to play along.

My own mother is in a nursing home and they have been on lockdown for the last 2 weeks (no visitors whatsoever) but it's very hard to eliminate risk from staff (unless staff are to live in).

I believe the French were critical of the Italian approach and were slower to follow them

I see early figures from the US today are +2,685 cases/+46 deaths.

All US figures are not usually in/reported until the evening (our time).

I think the US figures today will be eye opening and in a week or so may be shocking!

I'm in the U.S working, really thinking of just getting a flight home.

    We'll see what happens.

Here's an idea: Print out https://bit.ly/3bsGoxR on A4 paper (2 copies). Anytime you go out, tape one on the front of your coat, and one to your back.
Not the prettiest in the world - but then again neither are face masks - and may help to save lives.......

Not to sound heartless but it'll be the test now to see if the virus in Ireland is as dangerous as they say it is.

There's 80 year olds that have gotten it already in this country and it hasn't taken a dot out of them.
There's others then a sizeable portion I'd guess have already got it but presented no symptoms and are in the clear now but don't know are are still worried about catching it.

Russia is sending medical teams and few tons of material and equipment needed to Italy. That is a very good news as they need all the help they can get.

EU solidarity is oxymoron - it actually looks like "everyone for themselves" in time of crisis. Germans confiscated every material which may be used to fight this crisis and other countries are doing the same.
Very shameful story which we will hardly find in any eu media happened in Czech Republic where they confiscated help which was sent from China and was supposed to go to Italy. Czech government boasted that they stopped criminals from exporting their own material abroad but one investigative journalist and nonprofit agency exposed this lie when they released pictures of boxes with description in chinese and italian.

Now we can watch real politics in front of our eyes. I understand that every government wants to protect their own citizens but stuff like this is on whole another level.
