At the press conferences George Lee is always asking about the numbers tested and Tony Holohan keeps telling him that they release the test figures once a week. Next release is due on 24th March.

The New Cases confirmed Number is meaningless unless it can be compared to the number tested and results back (ie: They are in Synch).

I wish someone would ask why they don't release these figures every day.

I honestly think the US is going to be hit hardest. There’s a massive cocktail of stuff going on over there , that will just create another Italy times a million.

I know it's annoying to see teenagers not take it serious but i think it's actually more frustrating how some older people aren't taking it seriously.

I've noticed a good few of the older crowd still out and about taking no heed of social distancing and no joke a family friend told me yesterday that he heard it's just a bad cold and that a bit of TK red lemonade gets rid of it! He's still out golfing and shopping and doing his bits and visiting the grandkids despite their parents telling him he shouldn't not a bother on him and he's 82! I couldn't believe it.

I agree, but the point I was making is that the number of positive tests is not directly translatable into the total prevalence of the virus in the population.

Exactly. I'm still anticipating a possible 30% rise tomorrow anyway but will be pleased if it's lower. I think the current low ICU count is the big positive takeaway from all of the numbers.

Number of cases doesn't matter, we know many more are infected. Yes its nice to see them low but ICU and hospitalisation figures are most important to determine how we are handling this. There needs to be a serious concentration of testing in Dublin, Cork and Limerick.

The Mayor of NY seems like a competent guy, night and day comparing him and Trump but that state is in serious bother. Huge numbers, massive supply shortages, population density and a world travel hub.

I've asked this question before but what do effect to people think our population density has on our numbers.

The fact that we have way less people than Italy China or the UK would it be safe to say we would be likely see the growth in numbers that they have. We don't have big heavily populated cities so there's a natural social isolation that comes with that.

The 102 number is not today's results, taking my own experience into account, I developed symptoms last Sunday and requested a test then, I was finally tested on Friday morning and I'm still waiting on the results. We could be 7 - 8 days behind in reality which is very worrying. There is not enough information on what days the results are covering.

I think population density is the key to the uneven distribution. I know that seems like I’m stating the obvious but people in Dublin need to wise up. People in rural Ireland are able to move more freely and get out for fresh air and walks more at the moment and that’s the reality. We can’t do the same here in Dublin.
